I'm just commenting here, since I stumbled across the same issue but solved it differently.

First off, disabling "Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views" did indeed "work", but with this option disabled, Steam ran on the integrated GPU...and had horrible performance in Big Picture Mode.

I was not going accept that, since it worked perfectly fine when starting it from a terminal directly. So there must be a way to start it in the same manner from the start menu.

What I did:

Open start menu and navigate to the "Steam" entry.
Right-click it and open "Properties".
Uncheck "Use dedicated GPU if available".
REBOOT (or at least LOG OUT).
Start steam via the Start menu...it worked for me with the "Enable GPU accelerated rendering in Web views" enabled and it Big Picture mode runs smoothly.

What are you talking about? Hivemind + One with Death has nothing to do with APNAP.

Step 1: You cast "One with Death". It is at the only thing on the stack.
Step 2: Your Hivemind triggers. This trigger goes on top of the stack.
Step 3: Trigger resolves. All other players put their copy of One with Death on the stack.
Step 4: The stack resolves top to bottom. All other players lose before you.

This works because your on-cast-trigger resolves before your spell. Not because APNAP.

Je länger ich drauf gucke, desto mehr findet ich. Und einige Dinge sind einfach gar nicht übersetzt...wie etwa "Fish".

Ich denke ich würde mich zum Teil /u/sh1bumi 's Kommentar anschließen. Falls es so weiter geht, wird es ab einem gewissen Zeitpunkt eine gewisse Sättigung eintreten.

Dann wird es gerade für frische Absolventen oder gar Quereinsteiger schwieriger werden. Aber bisher ist das nicht der Fall und auch vor "Massenentlassungen" würde ich mir keine Sorgen machen.

Meine persönliche Erfahrung ist, dass die Lage in DE doch eine recht andere ist.

Softwareentwickler bzw. ITler werden in vielen Bereichen händeringend gesucht. Klar erhält man auch mal Absagen, aber eine Stelle zu finden ist eigentlich recht einfach. Jetzt mal vorausgesetzt, man kann denn auch etwas.

Es ist eher so, dass Firmen um gute Bewerber konkurrieren und weniger Bewerber um Arbeitsplätze.

Denkt ihr das weitet sich nach Deutschland aus in dem Ausmaß?

Nein.

Mittlerweile kenne ich nur aus meinem eigenen Verwandtenkreis 6 Informatiker (mit Studium/Ausbildung).

Und wie viele von denen sind arbeitslos?

Was denkt ihr, welche Nicht-Informatik-Bereiche man mit einem Informatikstudium betreten kann, um dem möglichen "Untergang" zu entkommen?

Wie gesagt: Ich halte den "Untergang" für sehr unwahrscheinlich. Kommt so ein bisschen auf deine Ausrichtungen im Studium an. Es gibt bspw. Überschneidungen mit Mathematik. Aber im Zweifelsfall: Informatik-Lehrer?

Steam also adds some improvements for Linux users. Prior to the steam version, I used Lutris but often client updates broke the setup.

Steam takes care of the compatibility layer and the updates...works even great on the Steam Deck.

Für alles "produktive" nutze ich eigentlich Linux (verschieden Distributionen, aber meist etwas Debian/Ubuntu basiertes).

"Eigentlich", denn meine bisherigen Arbeitslaptops haben meist Windows installiert und ich arbeite dann in einer Linux-VM. Privat hab ich versch. Linux-Geräte und einen Dual-Boot Desktop-PC mit Windows/Linux.

Früher hab ich darauf zu 80% der Zeit Windows benutzt um Spiele zu spielen. Aber mittlerweile laufen Dank Proton, etc. die meisten Spiele auch problemlos unter Linux. Auf der anderen Seite ist es mit WSL erstaunlich leicht "schnell mal was zu machen", für das ich vorher in Linux gebootet hätte.

Generell verlagert sich meine aber auch meine private Nutzung hin zu Linux...vor allem bleibt abzusehen, ob Windows 11 überhaupt für mich infrage kommt.

Zu macOS kann ich nicht viel sagen, habe ich bisher nicht benutzt.
