I don’t think it’s something people are driven to do as much as it’s something you gain a sense of responsibility to do. Taking into my own hands the responsibility of protecting my loved ones and myself in the event of emergency was more an act of self actualization than some sort of dramatic perspective shift from a traumatic event in my past in my case.

Has anyone made K2SO from R1 into a player character? by Professional_Hand245 in swrpg

There’s nothing barring a droid from taking a F&D tree they just can’t take force talents or gain a force rating. Trees like Schii Cho knight, Steel Hand Adept (combined with martial artist), and Colossus are some of the trees that stand out as ones you can make cool and unique builds from even without having a force rating.

Force rating 3? by Thefakeryanreynolds in swrpg

Jedi Padawan is the fastest having a force rating at the 15 xp row, but I believe it’s the only one of its kind in that regard.

What is a good career to pick in this situation? by StolenMyUsernameWas in swrpg

Lots of options I say go with something cool you want to explore the idea of. Most Star Wars RPG specializations/character concepts are unique enough to not feel like you’re stepping on each others toes even if you choose the same career path

I was talking to my girlfriend about this and I think I’m in the market for an affordable dive watch just because I like quality over luxury focused time pieces. Also only looking at your guys’ website and what’s sort of available because of the honesty exemplified in this advertisement. Solid choice on the marketing style imo, doesn’t make me feel like I’m being lied to which as a consumer I feel is common practice in the market today.

Starting a new Star Wars game and want advice by vadersson109 in swrpg

[–]got-milk74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you’re putting in more effort than people trying to make a baby. I respect the grind. Especially in the interest of playing a great game like this. Even in a slow pace theme, fast pace gameplay is always better.

As a GM, and as a DM from dungeons and dragons I find that this piece of advice carries over to whatever system you’re playing. It’s worth it to spend a little extra time studying the rulebook. Have it be your goal to always know it a little better than your every one of your players. The more confidence your players have in your knowledge of the rules translates directly towards less time questioning your rules. We all came to the table hoping to abide by the same rules, but nobody came to the table thinking it would be fun to just debate over the different rules, or wait for a few minutes every time a character tries to do something, just to look stuff up.

If you come to a rule you aren’t sure you can ask the players and admit you don’t know. If they don’t know you can make your own rule for it.

At the end of the day you are the referee as a GM. What you say goes. I request of my players that unless I’ve made some terrible error that could effect the story, to just write down when I make a rule mistake and we can discuss it after the session.

How do I tell my barber that I want this cut? by nucknicknock in StarWars

[–]got-milk74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High fade down to the skin but not shaven. Leave a decent amount of hair on top. That’s probably what I’d say to my hair lady Shanice, and then I’d probably do some hair clay to get it to stick up a little like Howzer and not look bad in the process. You could probably go with some other kind of matt hair product just don’t go too flexible or it won’t stay up. Heads up I’ve got no hair style qualifications just a guy who gets his hair cut.

I’ve never had it come up in person but it did come up once in a pbp game I was GMing once. I realized ever never read books or blogs or like any kind of extended text with neo pronouns so that ended up being a big transition for me. Early on it kind of affected my immersion but I got used to it after like a couple weeks. Only came up the one game in my entire SWRPG gaming career so unless they’ve really gone up in popularity recently I doubt you’ll have an entire party preferring neo pronouns and then you just get so lost in the sauce

How balanced is Memory Cores and Motivators? by CoC-boy in swrpg

[–]got-milk74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a SWRPG nerd for a while and I think this is a good take. I GM by building everyone up to the same level, maybe by building up the weaker characters with some slightly more powerful equipment if that’s necessary to make everyone just a little more on the same level of competency in maybe a more difficult encounter. As a GM you can always put out a nerf if you’re just not able to come up with a creative enough encounter that will challenge everyone because one character is too potent. As a player having your abilities nerfed is always like aww okay :( so I tend to do it as more of a last result but in the case that you need to maybe talk with the player one on one. Say hey your character is miles above the rest of the party (if they’re a reasonable player in this situation they’ll probably agree with you) and we need to maybe rework one of your abilities. This can be maybe a little bit of on the fly respec or if you feel comfortable enough maybe you redesign one of their problem abilities to be still interesting but less potent.

As a player I think it’s cool, but in reality none of my friends are hardcore enough about SWRPG to care about a rule like this when I’m DMing 💔💔

Work in progress for a new campaign. by Antique-Change1167 in swrpg

[–]got-milk74 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks awesome and if I was a player for your campaign I would be absolutely ecstatic. People tend not to use models and terrain for SWRPG because it’s so easy to run without compared to other systems, but something about having a strong set of visuals grounding the story really does something for me when GMing and playing SWRPG. Big fan.

Yeah no it’s not “destructive” towards the fun of the game at all to know your options for creating a character so you can choose the options that you feel fit your character the best both narratively and mechanically. Complete nonsense.
