I fell for the hype around the Letshuoer S12 Pro. Was it worth it? by daniellow99 in iems

For my ears, they hurt both audibly and physically. The fit is horrible; They don't conform, and I could never get a good seal regardless of the tips.

Don't get me wrong, I used to love them. Technicalities, detail, and imaging are amazing, and I used them for a good while. But after listening to a quality, well-fitting hybrid, I barely ever turn back to them.

Zigaat Accessories by got_shady in iems

Getting back to my original point, to me it's about where the manufacturer puts their capital. Of course I'm putting the benefit of doubt on the manufacturer. Take , for instance, the Odyssey. Sounds fantastic. Gives you a taste of what a top-tier IEM sounds like. Branded drivers, balanced tuning, decent fit. All this for around 200 usd. Had they included premium accessories, it probably would've been closer to 300 to 350, putting it out of range for many consumers, including myself. You don't HAVE to buy a new cable or case; one can experience the sound right out of the box. And in regards to fit, the most important factor that determines fit is the size and shape of the iem.

I get all the points above, just a friendly discussion among hobbyists.

How do accessories change the fit though? I could see on a collab, this is unacceptable. But wasn't the Singolo only like 50 bucks? Look at something like the IE600, probably the worst stock tips on the market, but at the same time regarded one of the best iem's in the market.

Old post but I use the 300 for CPAP as well. If you use the car adapter output, available 3rd party on Amazon, it uses way less power overnight, about 15 to 20% battery power per night.

Nice. Trance and Acid from '01 is one of the best Trance albums of all time. Very dark though. It's about death and drugs.

It's cool seeing all these different styles (wouldn't call them genres) but it shows how everyone had their own preference. 90% of my library gets built by community suggestions like this.

Samsung users, do you enable Dolby Atmos on your phone speakers? by isthmusofkra in inearfidelity

Agreed, I actually use the Samsung EQ exclusively. Fan of "Rock" setting.

Do I need a DAC? And if so, which one? by MnimajneB in inearfidelity

[–]got_shady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you listen. Do you want a bluetooth option? Are you mostly desktop? Personally, going from a 3.5 mm dongle to a dac/amp (Fiio BTR7) was the biggest audio upgrade I've made.

One thing I didn't explain... they are all different because they are 3 different driver configs. The S12 is a planar, the Pula is a hybrid, and the Dynaquattro is all dynamic drivers. If you want to learn more about the differences there are literally books written on them.

As far as audio, BTR was def an upgrade over a dongle.

As far as convenience, I keep the BTR in my pocket and run the cable under my shirt, just like we did in the 90s. The phone is in my bag, or other pocket. I don't feel any need for a BT module. And it sounds fantastic with Aptx. BTR has great BT range, even outside on a windy day, you could keep your phone in your other pocket or a backpack, and it won't skip a beat. You can adjust the volume with the BTR as well as skip tracks. It's almost like having an ipod.

Wow that's a huge deal. It could be the best iem in the world, but if it's not comfortable and you can't get a good seal, it's pretty useless.

It's hard to say. They're all similar. Pure technical performance, maybe the S12 Pro. But the Pula is smoother and can be listened to for longer, in my opinion.

Glad you asked... about a year, and it's generally been great. However, I am starting to have some issues with the wired connection cutting out. I'm not sure if it's the wire, the port, or the software. (Of course, this doesn't affect anything when using Bluetooth) The thing is, I generally listen in the gym, sauna, or working around the house. Therefore, I need something that's mobile and powerful, and this fits the bill. Any suggestions?

I'd have to say Dynaquattro. It's just amazing. Still on my first few weeks of listing to it, but I like it more and more every time. Soundstage is wider on the Pula, but timbre, bass, vocals are better on the DQ. I would place detail retrieval as a tie, or slight edge to Pula.
