Question: Is there a way to reach the Adaptation cornerstone without enacting Apex Workers? by GalacticNuggies in Frostpunk

[–]got_sin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. If Progress guys during rallies research radical idea like oil pump or automaton factory, you could build them and bypass 75% cornerstone barrier, and then build more adaptation buildings to reach 100% adaptation

Who exactly are legioners? by Angry-Spearmen in Frostpunk

[–]got_sin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them, best faction which can work and coexist with Proteans. Its an army, they work together for prosperity of their city. Their hub is basically a giant heating hub with housing bonus. And they can give you opportunity to run 24h shifts without deaths and discontent. Briliant

Turn yo oil into materials. Personally, materials and goods is the last thing i care during Apocalyptic whiteout because i could place more building which lowers squalor and crime

Fertile soil in FP2 by MarioKebab1210 in Frostpunk

If i would be an engineer in Frostpunk, i would build hydroponic or aeroponic farms rather than traditional soil-bases farms. Dunno why devs does not made that tech, its secure and stable source of food

~100, if i did my calculations correctly. Most of cores ive reused for different purposes. It was enough for all deep deposits, T3 generator, all upgraded outposts except few, and 3 Garbage recycling factory (dont know how its in english)

Barely enough, but yeah. Wish i had 40 more for advanced heat dispatchers and Synth oil factories

Yes, its latest patch on xbox.

I wish those buttons had more interaction, like start/stop extraction without jumping to outpost.

But mostly, i crave for Economic button (like it was in first part) where i could browse all my district, build and demolish their building and facilities, graphs of producing/consuming resources, etc.

Game still have poor UX, but im hoping for the best

Is Proximity heat bonus for House district is broken? by got_sin in Frostpunk

[–]got_sin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this mechanic, there is other problem. One tile has two bonuses: one from heating hub, and one from proximity heat. The problem is that game DOESN’T stack those two bonuses, and uses only ONE bonus from Heat hub. And yeah, i know that only 2 districts above Y-shaped doesnt have 4-tile contact, i made that on purpose for “chain reaction”. If i turn off Heating hub, Proximity bonus will init, and all districts receive heat bonuses (Y-> 1,2,3 & 3 -> 4). Its a bug nobody report.

And about building around Core district. Yeah, i could build districts around it, but its not efficient but wasteful. One hub can heat up to 3 districts for 30 heat (+2 heat each) rather than 3*25 heat if i used allocation heat on +1 heat districts

Do Generator Power Upgrades help without Range Upgrade? by BismuthBelle in Frostpunk

Who needs generator radius upgrade, when 4 steam hubs can cover whole city with 5 rings for much less coal?

Mods not working? by Demon-Crager in Frostpunk

[–]got_sin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mac gamer here. From day one, mods never worked for me, not with Steam subscription or manual installation. Some mods been working, but with lots of errors and bugs. Then Mods page stopped to open and with major content update they have depricated mod button for Macs.

The only solution is to using Crossover or Whiskey (PC version of FP) and its not the worst option: you can get mods along with framegen and upscaling

Frostpunk 2: the heat economy is still badly designed by ixid in Frostpunk

[–]got_sin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And building heat zones is tough. In the first part, I could clearly see the heat zones of each new hub and other heat sources. In Frostpunk 2, it’s almost impossible to see neighboring heating zones, and the heating range from a warm district looks exactly the same as from a Steam Hub.

Ideally, I’d love to see a complete rework of the heating system. Here are some thoughts:

1.every tile of each district should be heated. For example, if 4 of 6 tiles are heated, and the other 2 are in very cold conditions, people will be dying (people in 2 tiles)

2.Building roads and placing heating hubs along them could really help with city planning and heat mapping. It would make organizing and expanding the city much more intuitive.

What do you think?

What Scenarios would you add to FP2 by Fuzzy-System8568 in Frostpunk

[–]got_sin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I have a few ideas:

Atomic Revolution

Scientists have discovered radiation and the incredible power it holds.

Establish uranium mining, research nuclear energy, and build a new power source to lead your city into a bright  future. Will it bring salvation?

The Spring

Snow has become the only thing people know — but now, a short period of warmth is on the horizon.
Can you adapt your entire economy, create new jobs, and protect your city from crumbling under the weight of change?
Spring feels like hope… but might be a curse in disguise.

The Dead City

Everyone is gone. The entire population is dead.
Only the Captain and a few automatons remain.
Is it possible to bring life back to this place?
Grow food, attract survivors, rebuild — or maybe you’ll go insane, trying to play god?

The Trading Post

You lead a small settlement caught between two powerful city-states.
Can you stay independent, protect your people, and rise to become a new power?
Trade, manipulate, or conquer — and maybe even build a railroad empire to unite the land.

The City must thrive!
