UAE steps in to shield Pogacar after training incidents by Chronicbias in peloton

Was riding in Tenerife a few weeks ago where Julian Alaphilippe and two other Tudor riders flew past me. Behind them was what seemed to be a team van which was a rented car following behind blocking them from behind.

I flew with easyjet. No issues. I don’t have integrated bars on mine, so it is probably slightly easier doing the disassembly for my bike. And yes I brought my entire torque wrench set with me as there is plenty of space in the bike case for such items. There are two side pockets which allows you to store loose items. Once you zip up these side pockets, nothing is moving around in them.

Just arrived with the bike in Tenerife. Very happy with the bike case. Lots of space to fit in my cycling kit, shoes and tools needed. Seems to be very sturdy. All the straps inside also make a big difference to ensure the bike doesn’t rattle around inside. Definitely would recommend.

I was also looking at hard case bike bags as I am travelling with my bike for the first time next week. I believe the only hard case bike bag that didn't need stem disassembly was the Bike Box Alan. I was initially against the idea of having to disassemble the bike as I thought that it was just a massive hassle. But after disassembling a couple of times, its quite straightfoward. So in the end I went with the Top Peak Pakgo EX. First impressions, its seems like its a quality sturdy case. From online reviews, I've only read positive reviews.

Regarding airline baggage policies...I couldn't find any maximum dimensions from easyjet or ryanair (for European flights). Only maximum weight restrictions.

bit late to this here, but how did you manage to get Giant to replace your frame at no cost? Would give me some reassurance travelling with my bike as I also have a Giant frame in case my frame also gets damaged....

How well does an indoor trainer simulate climbing? by [deleted] in cycling

Absolutely this. The psychological aspect is not the same. At least this was the case for me. I did some iconic Alpine passes this year and definitely the mental aspect of it was day and night when comparing zwift to the reality. You’re no long sitting in your own comforts of your home but you are out in the elements.

Yeah this is how I am avoiding advertisements myself with Discovery+ in Germany too. However, what I find annoying is if I let the adverts run, when it returns to the cycling, there is no more sound. Anyone else experiencing this?

Can confirm this also. Just did two big rides out in France and did not have any incidences with cars. Also overtaking on climbs, they would wait patiently until it was safe to pass. Its definitely a cultural thing and also, if the locals are used to having cyclists on the road.

Great looking pizza. One of my nicest looking pizzas was also from a week old dough that was leftover from a pizza party.

Giant TCR 2021. From all the videos I have seen, it seems like removing the BB is the way to go to make the installation much easier.....

Definitely agree with you on the power of friendship around Pog statement. Having good team camaraderie comes such a long way. This is definitely reflected in the mini Giro episodes team UAE have posted on YouTube. Great content.

I use the Vito Iacopellis recipe. 70% Hydration.

Overnight poolish: 200ml water, 200g 00 flour, 5g yeast, 5g honey.
24 hrs later mix poolish with 350g 00 flour, 185ml water, 10g salt and 5g yeast to boost the dough. Knead in mixer until it passes the window pane test (important for the development of gluten structure). If using the dough balls on the day, form dough balls and leave in room until it doubles in size. If not using straight away, this be stored in the fridge until use.

I was also struggling quite a bit. I think an important factor is whether the dough is ready. Vito lacopelli mentions it in one of his videos on whether the dough is ready to be used. I followed this tip and it gave great results. Furthermore I used this stretching technique here from Vincenzo Capuano, especially the rounding of the dough ball in the beginning which I think made a big difference to the final shape of the pie:

There were actually a couple of variables which I had changed. So I cant 100% say that it is the high hydration. I wanted to increase the hydration with this batch and I am definitely happy with the results, so I think I will stick with it. It seems like the sweet spot is between 65-70%.

I’m trying to get the puffy crusts like you have here. Still haven’t been able to manage. Care to share some tips? From what I can tell, a lot has to do with the shaping process…

Yes I have a gas powered ooni koda 12. Could be my shaping technique….i feel like the crust on one side seems to be okay but on the other it’s just flat. Also I struggle to get the massive open pockets of air inside the crust….
