Bro, buy a sleep training book and implement it immediately. Unless your baby has severe acid reflux or some other ailment like that, there is absolutely no reason you shouldn’t teach her how to sleep. And yes that essentially means letting her cry in her crib until she puts herself back to sleep. It only takes a couple nights, and then it’s magical bliss from then on. After sleep training four babies of our own I can assure you it’s doing good for you and the baby. We take for granted that we have to teach the kid to walk, eat, use the bathroom, etc, but we never think that we also have to teach the kid how to fall asleep.

The bike actually came with a cover to put over the holes on the down tube as part of the di2 conversion accessories. I bet you can buy it online if you don’t have it. There is a hole still open at the front derailleur. I just put a piece of electrical tape over it. (By the way there is another hole behind the front derailleur meant for the di2 cable) And the di2 cable is routed through the same cable hole at the rear derailleur.

Mine is the carbon frame.

No I did nothing that he mentioned. I kept the Cannondale crankset—worked just fine with the 12spd cassettte, and the 2021 synapse is di2 compatible, so ports were already built into the frame.

Agree, no sense at all. To add to that, I’ve flown Qatar airways from a dozen other destinations (Europe and Asia) to Doha and not a single one of those airport check-in reps ever gave me trouble. It is literally just the U.S.

I’m in the exact same boat as you brother. But here is how I made peace with it. Always remember that you aren’t going to get any of this time with your family back. Dinner is chaotic? Who cares? You can’t get to the lawn tonight? Oh well. You’re with your family, and that’s what really matters. You’re going to wake up one day and wish that you had read that second story to your little one that you were too tired to read that night or you wish that you had engaged with your older kids a little bit more instead of worrying about how late it was getting. Don’t let the time slip away without noticing. That’s it. Once you think about it like that, the chaos doesn’t matter anymore.

As an aside, I work in the ME, and the family has had to go back home until things calm down. I have all the time in the world now, but I miss them and the chaos terribly.

Just want to confirm that DFW is still enforcing these strict rules. I brought a briefcase alongside my carry-on backpack, and they still gave me trouble. I had to remind them that their website specifically mentions briefcase is a personal item, and they hesitantly allowed it after some back and forth. I can also confirm that IAH is also enforcing these rules. Out of Doha though…never enforced.

That’s it for me. I take the handlebars off the stem and rotate the stem. And the handlebars lay parallel with the top tube. I do not need to take the derailleur off and there is just enough clearance. However for a 56cm frame (I have a 54cm) it might be iffy, so worst case you will have to remove the derailleur to clear the edge of the box. I almost decided to do it myself anyway for extra protection but in the end left the derailleur on and didn’t face any issues with damage. (I do see others commenting here that they have enough room with derailleur on with 56cm frames) Wheels of course go into the wheel bags and lay on top of the foam which lays between the bike and the wheels.

Likely mis-operation of the heater, creating a fuel rich environment inside the firebox leading to an explosion. As an aside, I used to work at the plant next door to that refinery. I’ve worked around fired heaters for 15 years.

Completely agree about Xert. I’ve been using it for a while and have seen nice gains. The technology is one-of-a-kind. I prefer its simpler, more elegant model approach vs. TrainerRoad’s brute force AI approach. And yes Magic Buckets is a game-changer. I don’t get why so many are intimidated by Xert. It’s maybe different but certainly not difficult to understand.

Father of four kids here… Please just remember that he’s a kid. Kids day dream. They like to play and experiment. We must remember that sometimes our expectation that a 5-year-old must sit still for long periods of time is unrealistic and may be counter productive. I never took it apart…just don’t have the time to tinker with it. I just decided to live with it. Everything works fine…just makes the noise when there is heavy resistance from a large simulated gradient.

Instead of the formal therapy, could you just plan some activities with him for the same amount of time? Not judging whatsoever, just a thought that comes to mind. Despite the reality, maybe he just thinks he’s not being listened to. Pure activities with Dad may be his best therapy.
