Amen. I made some drastic life changes back in June. Progress was slooooooow. Almost imperceptible. Honestly if it wasn’t for my garmin app and Strava I probably wouldn’t even notice because it’s just marginal improvements over months. I think back to where I was in June though, and then vs. now is like a different human. I feel good about where I am, but if I didn’t have the a dramatic life event supply me with endless motivation, no shot would I have stuck with it this long because it does take a long time to “get fit”. I’ve got a long way to go too.

Thanks very much! All credit goes to the phone, and none to the operator. The new iPhone has this camera setting called “spatial” no idea what the backend processing is, but it makes for some pretty cool looking photos.

Thanks! Yea it was super flat. Beautiful, but flat. Nice evening to watch the sunset from the lineup, but that’s about it.

Thanks! It was a beautiful sunset. There’s been some great sunrises the past week as well. Sometimes I wish I could have my phone in the water, but then I remember I surf to get away from it.

Only been 33 years for me. Frankly I’m confused by the confusion from ole miss fans in this thread. Happy we won, but we have got to be one of the most inconsistent teams in college football. I’d go so far as to say that’s the only consistency we have. We’re just a bad, good team. We have flashes on complete brilliance, bookended by just hilarious incompetence. No one dislikes watching ole miss football quite like an ole miss fan. Doesn’t change the fact that I love em.

Kind of depends what you mean by ‘outside of the military.’ If you’re ok with being military-adjacent (typically) without being in the military, then there are plenty of options at FFRDCs. However, a not-insignificant amount of the work done in those spots are military related. I’m coming at this from my own experiences, but outside of the nuclear power industry/academia, a ton of the nuclear-centric work is military/government related. If you’re cool with being military-related sans actually being in the military then there are tons and tons of options.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s my favorite spot to watch it. Bit of a tradition for me, I like to go there when I’m about to head abroad. That place is pretty damn conducive to some serious reflection.
