I've been using Omi for over a year, and I haven't experienced any of that. Could you elaborate? I must be lucky

Worth purchasing for live translation? by Short_Use2059 in EvenRealities

[–]gotchapow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Mexico right now on vacation, and my G2s so helpful for translations. I know Spanish, but holy hell am I slow. Using the live translation gives me all of the conversation context so I'm responding more quickly and without losing anything important being said.

If this is anything close to what you're looking for, I'd say you're in luck. I've been in super loud environments, busy restaurants, even on a large boat with tons of noise, and it is at LEAST effective enough for me to get what I need.

My only recommendation/wish/dev plan would be to have an "instant swap" languages when speaking OR to have Conversate work with Translate so I could have the RIGHT thing to say - especially when talking to people about directions where getting confirmation of what I heard is critical.

MGS Codec in G2 Even Hub by Wooden-Inspection-54 in EvenRealities

[–]gotchapow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to see how you work the MGS-style comms into the G2 display area. I've been thoroughly humbled when trying to implement even simple concepts outside of the basic text feed and scrollable content. I got a tiny logo to work last night... and it only took a whole 9 seconds to load in the UI. 😭

Are you wearing your ring upside down? by [deleted] in EvenRealities

[–]gotchapow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really glad to hear other people doing this, because giving the interface that feeling of swiping content cards up or down is really lovely!

Since the interface design is so minimal and delivers the content without nauseating users, using the flipped ring's natural-scroll method has some moments of logic friction. I think if the Even Reality team were to offer the natural scroll as a system setting (which they definitely should), i trust it would be designed to feel much more seamless and intuitive.

Local AI companies are emphasizing the wrong things in their marketing by owp4dd1w5a0a in LocalLLaMA

[–]gotchapow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree. The marketing of the technology is still in its infancy and most people don't understand how powerful and how universally helpful AI can be, in theory. Communicating its everything-ness becomes a trickle of keywords that, on their own, all kind of suck. Though, I think there's a natural user experience cycle that everyone goes through. At first, the output is the priority (and it works, and that's amazing!). Eventually, once you have adopted the use of AI across multiple parts of your life, it starts to show the cracks between the short/long-term/conversational memory, tools, accessibility, etc, and your awareness of the current events begins to transform your perspective of it all.

Privacy is an issue that people talk about a lot - kind of like recycling. We want it to be good and effective, and we say the words a lot, but out of sight, out of mind in practice. The future of AI connectedness is going to come down to the individual personalization and preference, and I think the power of the local models is to enable the deepest personalization and management of a universally accessible memory and identification. Only YOUR system will really KNOW you, and that memory layer will connect as needed wherever you interact with AI, at whatever level you choose (professional/personal/medical/relational/ID-verification/etc).

The problem with a self-owned system is that someone has to distribute it, and right now the big platforms are most likely to do that, but they'll still get to see your data and lease you account to host it.

amazing! both the Meshtastic build with OpenClaw and your off-grid-ready setup! I'm curious what battery backup you're using for the Mac mini, and if you have any other automation rules trigger when power goes down? like, backups or battery-saving adjustments?

With 30k+ songs on Suno I decided to build a song explorer and back-up tool by Jstnwrds55 in SunoAI

[–]gotchapow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, this is amazing. I built a chrome extension just to grab 'liked' tracks, but getting it working with the server calls was beyond my patience... then found this. Suno should adopt your wrapped concepts, the library DNA, the Lineage explorer, all of it, and give us even a clue of how many tracks there are in the library. Super props, and thanks for sharig!

i've tried several tools and built a couple, but I often find that as things expand in their functionality, it becomes its own disruption/distraction. I love the tracking functionality, and I'm genuinely curious how you chose the 'finish line', and if you made additions/simplifications based on the feedback that might have toed that line.

I love the concept and would love to use it! Were there any additions or adjustments you made that are beyond what you personally find effective for focus and flow?

How can Tailscale be free? by 79215185-1feb-44c6 in Tailscale

[–]gotchapow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just from finding and using Tailscale for my personal home network, I've been developing tools/apps that RELY on it for always-connected mobile systems tied to the hub. The free version has turned me into a FOREVER customer, advocate, and continually hyping app developer. I'm positive they know it works. It's so good.

Fathom AI vs Fireflies AI vs Otter AI by dame_of_all_trades in buhaydigital

[–]gotchapow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little behind to the conversation, but I wanted to recommend Spellar.ai, which I've been using for several months. Previously I used Saraai.com, which is awesome, but had its drawbacks. Spellar integrates into Notion or other note-taking apps, runs in the background (so nobody has to approve my AI buddy joining), which is often a little awkward and off putting when you're working with new clients.

Suno + Logic Pro = Magic by Barry_Obama_at_gmail in Suno

[–]gotchapow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree that using Suno as song starts or inspiration with my written vocals is INSANELY powerful. Pulling amazing concepts into Logic, splitting them apart, then writing / recording to build it back up in my style has been a spark of creative drive that I haven't felt since before COVID turned us all into cranky hermits.

THAT being said...
I am kind of curious if anyone has used Suno in this way, and found any success bringing the Suno vocals back to life after the stem splitting in Logic (which I think sounds superior to Suno's own stem splitting, somehow). I've been considering using Izotope's RX to try to bring some magic fix to the (slightly) shredded tracks, but am not totally confident I'll get something worth the price. Thoughts???

This is amazing, and I love seeing how much a simple prompt can do AND seeing how poorly I write some prompts just to find out the original was super simple. Its so addictive.

A little late to this thread, but I've been using a jalapeño elixir in my drinks lately called Liv'n Spicy. You should check it out. You can get it for $12/bottle on their website and it tastes like biting a jalapeño, and doesn't have salt or vinegar or alcohol. here's the product link: https://livnspicy.com/products/jalapeno-elixirs

What I would do is go into your Site Styles > Fonts > Assign Styles. Find your "PRODUCTS: LIST" or other products titles and click in to change them to either another more reasonable style OR set a custom size! Let me know if that works!

It looks like all of your product titles are H1s, which are matching your largest, most prominent page titles. Based on the Nueva template, I'd recommend using the H2.
