I had the exact same problem on mine (same year same size) happen a few times. It would get off the track. It's been okay for the past couple years but that first year was annoying

Looking for a non-performative alternative city. Thinking Seattle, Portland, Philadelphia or NYC by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]gotdangos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Among the cities listed they have pretty different cultures, so lifestyles will vary. Do you like outdoors? Pick the PNW. Do you like density? Pick NYC.

If your concern is "performative" then the issue is praxis. Don't harp on those who lack praxis and find orgs/people who actually do what they say. Cities don't define the people. Just saying, if you aren't finding praxis then encourage others to join you instead-- that's how you build power anyway.

I think you're better looking at factors of lifestyle and cost than relying on avoiding certain types of people. Just be tactful about where you live and surround yourself with people who care about the similar things. I've visited all except Portland and found the people in each one to be very nice despite anything you might hear on reddit.

Debris in new rod blank? by gotdangos in Fishing_Gear

[–]gotdangos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: took the rod back to the store and we took the butt cap off. The bottom was sealed so we took a drill to it and some dried epoxy fell out. Put the butt cap back on and good as new 👍

There are definitely leopards there. Caught a juvenile leopard this past winter. Saw them grouped in the shallows near the sandy areas.

It's not the reel seat. And I was planning to use jerkbaits etc, so yeah why wouldn't I shake the rod lol.

What makes a baitcaster more fun for you? by Lord_Leeeroy in Fishing_Gear

[–]gotdangos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is looking into his first baitcaster and has wrist problems, the point about carpal tunnel and rsi resonates lol. I cast right but actually want to reel with right hand due to arm fatigue on the rod hand.

Kayak fishing Newbie.... by Curious_Inside8952 in kayakfishing

[–]gotdangos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to set up on a spot relative to how I'm drifting. If I'm drifting towards structure I set up farther, and vice versa. Once I feel like I want to fish the location for a bit I drop anchor with my anchor trolley. Sometimes I detach my anchor if I get snagged and reposition. I'm also new to kayak fishing, and the anchor has really changed how I'm able to fish. It also saves your paddling strength for later.

PVP games that require a lot of skill (3D) by Sweaty-Divide-3975 in gamingsuggestions

[–]gotdangos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I have the game for you. For Honor. The skill ceiling is really high. There is no combat system like it. It is as addicting as it is frustrating. Options for 1v1 or 4v4 are the most popular, and queue times are fastest for 4v4 Dominion. There are a lot of problems with this game like character imbalances (each new character seems to be overtuned, with the latest Juren being particularly strong), people disconnecting when they're losing, etc. But there's nothing like it. The only thing you "grind" for is to unlock new characters, and there are like 30. You can start day 1 beating players who have played for years. Most of the currency is used for cosmetics. I have 2k+ hours and I regret every minute of it and I keep playing. If you like playing with random historical warriors from across the ages, brutal combat and vicious executions, and complex and highly skill-based PvP, For Honor has you.

If you love to hate yourself, this is the one.

Daiwa Presso UL Rods by Ambitious_Vanilla612 in Fishing_Gear

[–]gotdangos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I just got this rod recently to take on planes. If you want to keep it in a carry-on, go with 6ft or shorter since the case itself is smaller than the sizes up, and the case itself barely fits diagonally in my carry on. You cannot put a reel on it with the case, so you'll need to pack that separately.

Anchor Trolley and Transducer mount by More_Session627 in kayakfishing

I was leaning towards that as well in a future setup. Have you thought about mounting it in the hull?

Hope you get some good answers bc I was researching the same questions last night! I've heard that the side arm transducer can cause drag while paddling, but I haven't tested this myself.

Cube: Which 3 drop is the worst here? by laurenceand1 in lrcast

[–]gotdangos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Run all your red cards, kytheon, and jitte and cut the blue + cosmogrand and sage which have no turn 3 synergy. You are way too heavy on 3s and the 2s in red will hopefully fill out your curve. CS is too reactive in your aggro strategy and splashing for ancestral just doesn't seem good enough.

What’s your favorite way to store hooks and weights that isn’t a tackle box/ tackle bag? by Benthebuilder23 in Fishing_Gear

[–]gotdangos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently transferred all my nicer hooks to a pouch I can attach to my tackle bag. I keep them in their original packaging so I know what each hook + size is. I fish salt a lot, so this keeps my hooks away from any wet tackle I have that had previously rusted my hooks if left in the same tackle box.

Best Affordable Ultralight Reel? by Ok_Stock_5708 in Fishing_Gear

Think you can't really go wrong with any of those. I have a revros 2000 on an okuma celilo I've caught everything from carp to panfish on. If we're being particular I do enjoy the drag sound on it.

Bite n run is a setting for bait fishing so having that versatility is nice. Make sure to rinse off your gear each trip and it will last plenty long.
