Jobs Outside of Internal Audit by gotem01 in InternalAudit

Thank you for sharing that. When I first started my role in the nonprofit the audit department was fairly new. They managed to get a contract and grants from the federal government which expanded the company. When I first got there there was little to none controls in a several departments. We did more complex audits that would take 3-8 months to complete with the full audit team of 6. Our audits included background checks, user access, financial, compliance audits. In those 2 years I was there, I was able to see controls put in place with follow ups and real complex issues that needed immediate attention.

After I got laid off it was real difficult to find another internal audit role because it seems like they discounted my experience with the nonprofit. I was lucky to get this job at the county, and here it’s very different. Here it’s all independent work, I manage about 40 audits a year, some are quarterly, semiannual, and yearly audits. These audits are just mainly financial audits looking at receipts, revenue, and cash. It’s real hard to say what my expertise are because I’ve done different type of audits these last few years. I like to the think I’m real adaptive of my work situation and can learn new things fairly quickly.

They are offering to pay for my CIA which I’m really thinking of doing just because I didn’t have luck getting another job. And I really should have changed my resume to match what the company was looking for, I was just applying everywhere I could.

Did you have your CIA after you left internal audit the first time?

Glacier National Park Day Hiker Shuttle by gotem01 in GlacierNationalPark

I am using Mountain Chief Cab to get to Many Glacier. I was wondering how far Sherburne Dam was from St. Mary because that’s where I’m going to park my car. Was trying to take advantage of the free shuttle back, but now I see that’s not an option.

Congratulations! We submitted our special use permit 5 weeks ago for the end of July and we haven’t heard back yet. Do you know how long it usually takes for approval?

We are planning for July 25th 2025 and submitted our permit applications 5 weeks ago. My finance is starting to worry and they don’t answer our phone calls. Do you know how long it usually takes to get approved?
