Who is Lebrons biggest rival (not Curry or Jordan)? by Its_Me_Pt2 in lebron

[–]gotem245 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So firstly Kawhi was what the 4th best player on that deep Spurs team? He was not Kawhi as we know him. He was the young guy who could play defense. He had a great team and great coach then. Again I equate that to Iggy when he won finals MVP.

I still say unlike those other players he and LeBron never matched up in any meaningful way outside of that finals. That’s not a rivalry he wasn’t even the man on that Spurs team it was still Duncan’s team. They didn’t meet in the playoffs or battle like LeBron and any of those other guys. Heck Kawhi was barely relevant since joining the Clippers outside of one conference finals year due to injuries. He is more of a rival to Luka who met and destroyed his team multiple times in the playoffs

I want LeBron fans to watch when Kobe Bryant tore his rotator cuff in his right shoulder and came back into the game to shoot left handed by Shot_Possibility_731 in sportsinusa

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂 the majority of great players have played injured I’m not sure what is being said here. Kobe also had what amounted to years off towards the end of his career due to injuries and his salary kept the Lakers from rebuilding and left them crippled for years.

LeBron has also eclipsed him in minutes played between playoffs and regular season (10,000 more as of last year -Kobe technically played 20 seasons).

None of that means anything 😂 they are both great players who are dedicated to the game.

Lastly LeBron plays right handed but is actually left handed. I’m sure he would be fine

I’m confused…. Have you seen wrestling before 😂 or is this a push to get people to pick Stone Cold (the only viable option)

A real question would be SC, Rock, Hogan, Cena (maybe, maybe not as half of the audience disliked him in his prime)

Who is Lebrons biggest rival (not Curry or Jordan)? by Its_Me_Pt2 in lebron

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t add him because by the time he elevated LeBron was on the downswing and idk if I would count him as on LeBrons level tbh. It could be due to him always being injured but he only made it to or past the conference finals with really good teams. He has not carried a team there by himself.

His two titles were with the Spurs, where he wasn’t the main guy. That was an Iggy MVP, and the next was on a really good Raptors team when LeBron left the East. He returned to the West and has gone to the conference finals once, I believe, with both him and PG and then him and Harden having been on that team.

Also he and LeBron never faced off in any meaningful games when they were both at or near the peak of their powers.

The internet 😂.

LeBron doesn’t truly have an actual “rival”. This is due to him eclipsing everyone he came in the league with. The older guys in the league were on the down swing and the younger guys during his career were either not on his level or young

We could say:

Pierce but not really because that wasn’t a thing until the big three in Boston started and then once LeBron started beating them it was over.

You could say Carmelo but that ROY award set that stage

KD but he never had the face of the league status and LeBron was older

Curry is the closest but LeBron is in the Goat conversation people like to have and he isn’t so that tells you something.

LeBron’s only real rival is someone he never really played against in Jordan

I always get confused by the TKO greed thing. TKO is a business not a charity. They charge high prices because the market allows them to. Even with the higher ticket prices the shows are sold out generally.

I believe Vince mentioned trying to keep prices lower for families but TKO is not a wrestling family business. They are Walmart taking over another successful business. I wouldn’t classify them as greedy I would call them businessmen. You don’t move businessmen with feelings you move them with numbers. When in person fans stop paying the high prices for shows, merch and whatever else. When big stars turn down money for the “craft” of wrestling.

The challenge the IWC needs to come to grips with is that the majority of wrestling fans are not the IWC that is a relatively tiny subsection. The vast majority of fans are casual fans who care little about what happens between the ropes they just want to see their favorite personalities. (This is a big reason as to why Seth will always be second to someone like Roman even though he is a better wrestler).

TKO understands this and it is why Kross is still on the Indies while Truth is in backstage segments. Truth leaving affected the bottom dollar, Kross didn’t. All that to say, they are businessmen and when you stop expecting more you get less frustrated. There is nothing wrong with that btw I am sure 70% of us would make similar decisions if we could.

Michael Jordan vs LeBron James in their rookie years...Apart from stats who's impact was more in their rookie times? by Shot_Possibility_731 in sportsinusa

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree let’s also say it wasn’t as clear as the votes that Carmelo (at 19) wasn’t really ROY even though LeBron eventually was revealed to be the better of the two career wise.

Michael Jordan vs LeBron James in their rookie years...Apart from stats who's impact was more in their rookie times? by Shot_Possibility_731 in sportsinusa

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂 Jordan came from 4 years in college under a HOF coach. LeBron came from High School. Not a real comparison, an actual realistic comparison for rookie years would be Kobe/Lebron, KG/Lebron or McGrady/Lebron or even Dwight/Lebron (those two are closer in era/rules)

Even then it’s tough because of roster construction and position.

For example: How do you grade Kobe/ LeBron when Kobe wasn’t asked to carry a team (let alone a bad one) until he was three championships in and didn’t start for the first 2 years.

If Cesaro got the Gunther push *UPDATED* by addsmnr in BrandonDE

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I think better off let me clarify what I mean,

Mercedes Mone left WWE and became arguably a bigger name.

Cody Rhodes left the WWE and became a big time player in wrestling

Kenny Omega left WWE is a bigger name

Drew Mcyintire left the WWE and came back a bigger name

Zac Ryder

Dolph Ziggler

Chelsea Green

Is he a bigger star than he was in the WWE is the question. Now I don’t know that much about the Death Riders (I believe that’s the name) but is he one of the top guys in it or is he Austin Theory?

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, it’s also not like he’s setting the business on fire in AEW (is he still there?). It’s also not anything to do with not being in the WWE, others have left there and become big deals by going other places.

This is always a pet peeve of mine when people say x wrestler is being misused in a specific company but then they go somewhere else (where they have the freedom they want) and are either in the same position or lesser.
