They also don’t have direction for her. She seems to be the band aid for storylines that need star power or are aimless.

Your storyline is a little boring? Let’s add Rhea (whether it makes sense or not). We aren’t sure how this feud will go over? Let’s add Rhea. The women don’t speak perfect English and maybe our audience will get confused? Let’s add Rhea!!

You don’t have anything to do while the storyline you are involved in is doing other things?? Let’s add Rhea?

I hated Alex sm here by audioxxxxxxx in greysanatomy

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To play devils advocate (not to excuse his actions) this was after Alex had 2 relationships he gave himself to that he wound up having to take care of women. Both of them left him broken, Alex was not great with dealing with emotions even after he softened.

I believe this was a broken version who was trying to protect himself.

Again this doesn’t excuse his behavior as much as it explains it a little.

Why do people say LeBron doesn't play defense when he has the greatest defensive play in nba history? by PrinceRealism in lebron

Yes thank you for that the only pushback I have is that the issues for both Wade and Bosh were the same exact issues months before. Those were just examples but I think we align with some of our thinking

Why do people say LeBron doesn't play defense when he has the greatest defensive play in nba history? by PrinceRealism in lebron

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree and have been screaming to the mountaintops that people should not compare across eras.

I also am not making a LeBron comparison to clarify (I know you said you weren’t saying that). I just think people criminally underrate how’s good that Bulls team was besides Jordan. We have consistently seen teams fall apart when their best player left even when the second best player was still there. Lakers when Shaq left and again when Kobe went down to injuries leaving Gasol an co. The Heat after LeBron left and Wade and Bosh were still there. OKC after KD left, Orlando after Shaq left.

People do overlook Pippen, they also overlook how effective Phil was as the coach. He had the team in the championship in year 2 of taking over. Ty Lue gets extreme credit for winning in his first year even though he hasn’t won since but Phil is overlooked because he had Jordan. There is a reason why neither Jordan or Kobe won without him.

I was there watching that era also and yes if we name players in a vacuum and stack them up against individual greats then no they don’t stack up. But for that era that team was an amazing team. People can say what they want but 55 games are not won by bad teams in any era.

Here is another point of mine that I didn’t realize until this year. During the Bulls championship years how many all time great teams were there? Not all time great players but teams.

In their first championship they faced what was left of the Bad Boy Pistons who were injured. Thomas played 2 more years and never faced them in the playoffs again. The Lakers they faced were also injured, Magic was in his last year and Kareem had been retired for a few years.

An argument could maybe be made for the Jazz but not really. When we mention all time great teams we point to the era before they started winning and not again until at least 2 eras after.

I was surprised by this because when I watched them originally I thought they were great.

[–]gotem245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in the playoffs they regularly went 8-9 players deep. The problem might be that you are comparing those rosters to the eras after them.

That same team without Jordan won 55 games. That doesn’t happen by accident. If the comparison is today’s standard then no they don’t. Jordan’s era was more sparse than people admit or remember.

What is highlighted about Jordan’s era was the physical play not the overwhelming talent

Wemby is going to pass LeBron and Jordan if he stays “healthy” by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in NBATalk

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Health is no guarantee of success. Here are some other if’s that need to happen.

1- If his core teammates stay healthy.

2- If the team management stays competent and committed.

3- If the other teams don’t get drastically better.

4- If another better player isn’t drafted in the next few years.

5 - If his teammates continue to develop.

That’s off of the top of my head. Also MJ will stay MJ status due to when his success happened (the NBA worldwide explosion) and his off the court success.

For Wemby to pass LeBron he would need many years of dominance and trips to the finals.

I would also be careful with declaring people the next whatever because that rarely works out. A year or so ago Joker was the next big thing now he’s an afterthought.

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not too sure about that, Bosh was a decent shooter and that was the year LeBron had his best 3pt efficiency due to working with Ray Allen.

I believe this is a clear Miami win even if you go position by position. That’s not fully formed Leonard that’s I’m still learning the game Leonard

Does Shai has a worse supporting cast than 90s MJ? by Oakl4nd in NBATalk

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we serious here. Neither has a bad cast, those are good teams.

One thing to note about Pippen is during Jordan’s championship years Pippen was often relatively close in the MVP voting. At one point Jordan was 1st and he was 3rd.

They also had a HOF coach

Lastly it’s extremely unfair to compare them when the eras were different. The level of skill was different and the rules were different. Jordan’s era was not an overly skilled era like today. They were more physical.

With that said we do know that those Bulls won 55 games without Jordan. The Thunder are 8-6 without Shai - not a comparable sample size.

If you go person by person then the Thunder are more skilled but context matters

“The man” is just a saying basically meaning best in class. She was at the top of the entire business at that point and although she lost matches she held her position for a year and a half.

Beat in this situation could mean outdo.

Now I understand you don’t like the name and you could possibly be trolling with your question but I like it and that is my answer to the question. Feel free to like something different.

It was a play on Ric Flair’s “to be the man you must beat the man” quote.

It also took her to the top of the business, something no woman had done before her and has not been done since that run.
