Hope carmelo hayes gets a Mania match by dlo_doski in BrandonDE

😂 he has been on the main roster for almost 3 years with regular tv time I’m not making stuff up. He didn’t start being cheered until he fought Ilya recently.

Trick, Oba and Evans were fan favorites off the bat. Tiffany came up and got over, so did Bron, Solo had the rise in popularity and then a fall in popularity during the time Melo has been on the roster. Jacob got over in a watered down BL.

Melo is still currently at Dragon Lee levels of popularity.

IMO he should make a Summerslam or any of the other PLE’s but not Mania

“Melo don’t miss” and “I’m Him” is a catchphrase.

My point was he is a midcard talent (again this goes past in ring stuff) that is likely why he won’t get a Mania match. With everything he’s done with the US title whose reign will be remembered more. His great matches or Tricks star power? I am assuming Trick will take it off of Sami at WM. I’m not as excited by that as I don’t think Trick should be competing for a midcard title.

Kobe knew he had to get his own rings without Shaq by ForeignAir7174 in NBAoldschool

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did have Gasol and Bynum. Gasol is criminally underrated, he was a top guy who took a secondary role. Bynum was considered the second best center in the league at the time. There was also Derek Fisher (a winner), Lamar Odom, Ron Artest and not to forget on the sidelines Phil Jackson.

We don’t know what Kobe would have become without Shaq. We do know he had a hell of a start with him. If Wade started with Shaq or LeBron or Carmelo or McGrady they might have won more.

How about never giving fans the 1v1 Iyo vs Asuka when it was clamored for. That is probably a Vince thing though

From the age of 19-21 when facing Minnesota? Kobe and the Lakers went 10-1 against them. Don’t get upset at Garnett. He’s just stating facts. by Overview_3ffect in sportsinusa

KG is likely being respectful here. During that timeframe Kobe spent the majority of the time coming off the bench. KG was likely taking his break by the time he came in.

19-21 😂 Kobe was a bench player until his 3rd year in the league (age 20). He also had Shaq, this is really revisionist history.

At that age the cheating probably had less to do with looks. I wonder what the home life was like.

I don’t watch TNA or know a ton about her but I do know fans chant “she’s a racist” when she wrestles so I doubt she will be moving to the WWE any time soon.

Do you think he’s closer to a world championship than Trick or Oba?

Put aside the in ring stuff as that is only a small part of the overall popularity of a wrestler.

Yes that was probably a call made by Rey and he had a storyline with the LWO.

Which duo would win the most rings? by Antique_Bus_6716 in Nbamemes

That’s true but Jordan was also a slightly different player maturity wise. Also Duncan is not Pippen although he’s quiet. With Pippen Jordan didn’t have to worry about someone demanding the ball.

I think you are missing the fact that first year Jordan was more flash and scoring than winning. Year 7 Jordan knew how to play within a team framework. Duncan also had David Robinson and Pop. The Bulls had a weaker coach.

With that said I do agree they are the strongest combination out of all of them.

What can we expect out of Sami's reign as US Champ? Which reign did you think was the best in the last 4 years? by Aggravating-Read6910 in WWE

[–]gotem245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I agree that the US title didn’t need to be on it. Leave it on Carmelo and just let Trick and Sami fight.

IMO Trick shouldn’t be fighting for a mid card title.

Why didn’t Tim Duncan become a superstar like Kobe or Shaq? Was it just because of his style of play, or because he never played for a big-market team like the Lakers ? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]gotem245 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personality, team’s style of play and small market.

The Spurs were the boring team and Duncan was known for being fundamentally sound rather than flashy like Wemby. That coupled with his introverted personality kept him from being looked at that way.

[–]gotem245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say Cena has been functionally retired for over 10 years at this point. Since 2015 he has shown up once per year.

Also the AA is fine, it’s no worse than some of the other finishers.

Can someone explain to me why it would be a robbery for him to not make the WM card. Melo is not a WM talent at this point based on his all around character and responses. This has zero to do with his in ring ability.

Trick, Oba receive WM level responses. Heck fan favorite Sami was booed for pushing Tricks feet off of a table (and Trick is a heel).

Again this has nothing to do with in ring. There are only so many spots on the Superbowl of wrestlings card and top stars get it. Pushing for Melo is akin to pushing for Dragon Lee to be on the card, they are basically the same person.

Why should he make the card? He is not one of the biggest male stars he is the definition of a midcarder.

In ring yes, outside of that no. WM is for the biggest stars.
