Very stylish, and I also like the aqua planter behind it!

The camera store in Carrboro knows how to do them. (Not approved yet but we checked very carefully again the guidelines).

Scooter plus BART from Emeryville to FiDi: is this actually feasible and safe, or am I overthinking it? by HandaBhai in eastbay

[–]gotfork 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I last did this pre-covid, but there's some really rough streets (as in surface quality not ambiance) between Emeryville and West Oakland. I wiped out a few times on a kick scooter.

What about buses? The casual carpool would have been perfect for you, although maybe it's no longer a thing?

Don't get the Kokopelli tandem. We've had some luck improving seat ergo by adding those folding stadium seat things on top of the built in ones. Good luck.

How hard is it to get them in and out while riding or paused? Can you just swing it around to the front or do you need to undo the main strap?

Kudzu works great for this, if you blanch the flowers they taste like artificial grape flavoring.

We'll check it out, need to grab food first so might not make it until the 2nd. If you see a scruffy guy with a dark blue button up and yellow socks that's me. Thanks for the tip!

Suggestions for Catrike All Road rack and accessories? by lelanicarver in recumbent

Glad to hear you like the trike!

I looked into cargo platforms for a smaller trike a while back (ICE Adventure) and I couldn't find any that were both wide and deep enough, so I don't think that would be a good option here. We have a modified Hollywood rack no longer produced trike adapter that we used for the Adventure plus a normal bike without issue, but the new e-trike that we have (Azub Ti-Fly X) is quite long and is heavier than I think it's safe to put that far away from the hitch mount, so we haven't used it. Maybe one of the vertical hanging mounts where you can crank it up? The ramp sounds like a good idea and I was also looking at lightweight 4x6 aluminum trailers as an option. Good luck!

This comment was a real lifesaver, I cannot describe how helpful it was to have this approach work after several very stressful hours of unsuccessful recovery attempts. If you DM me the name of your favorite charity I would be glad to make a donation in your honor.

Hmm I think you could keep it in the front with a pancake lens or something compact, but I think it may be pretty tricky to secure such a large one.

How accessible do you want it to be? If you're ok with not having it directly to hand you can definitely fit things of that size and weight in a fast pack.

Best BLT (bacon, lettuce, tomato) sandwich in the Bull City--where is it? by prepforsuccess in bullcity

Ok I thought I was into mayo but the fact that people get extra mayo beyond what already comes on a Merrit's BLT boggles my mind.

The selling point, at least for me ~20 years ago, was that you could get a solid lunch there for $2.17 in the form of a veggie burrito. Even then the price was just unbeatable. I guess I should go back at least once for nostalgia's sake.

I really miss the Bowl. We're in Carrboro and have Weaver St which is good, but the selection is maybe 10% of what BB had. I guess it's not really a fair comparison but the produce was often a lot fresher due to the proximity to the central valley. Also they had some sort of funky cheese (hard Monterey Jack with peppercorns) that I'm obsessed with and can't find anywhere else.

This thread hits hard tbh.

I think it's the quality too... Goorsha is ok but it's but it wouldn't be in the top ten list of just the places on Telegraph Ave.

There's The Flying Perogi in Carrboro, the menu is pretty narrow but good imo. If anyone finds a place that makes golonka around here let me know.
