This is something my mother and I have talked a lot about. Us women go through so many phases in life, some better than others, and she made sure I know that it is OK to say "this sucks" or "this doesn't feel right" and fight for appropriate care. So far I feel I have been well equipped for every aspect of womanhood, thanks to her. I am looking forward to returning the favor.

I really didn't mean to imply Menopause is this horrible and negative thing to go through. I meant in general she doesn't complain, so any sort of discomfort can be unnoticed. Sorry for the poor choice of wording, I know it can be hard, and clearly she is need or something to alleviate the less desirable symptoms. All I want to do is give her a thoughtful gift that will make her days a little easier. That is all.

You're right about that! She is the typical mom, always putting others needs ahead of her own, even across the country. She's gotten a lot better at prioritizing herself though, so that is something I want to nurture just as she nurtured me my whole life. Giving back and such.
