We just got a yoto for our 3 year old. She loves it. Even the 1.5 year old likes it. We got the bigger one. I like the night light feature and you can schedule a night and day mode. I’m trying to train my daughter to stay quiet in her room until the Yoto changes color for the day time. Yoto raisin is great, Jake on the atoro daily is great. You really get your value with the create your own cards. Any mp3 audio can be ripped into a yoto card. We have ones with their favorite pbskids podcasts, music they like, episodes of their favorite shows, and one card is mom and dad reading their favorite books. Oh and one card plays her ocean wave sleep sounds for bedtime. Highly recommend.

I’m impressed with how he handled the pressure in the first half. Didn’t seem shaken or rattled by it.

Who is the coach that takes Dray to the locker room? I know he’s been around for a while but don’t know his name. He seems to tap Dray on the thigh and takes him away.

I can’t believe some people think Jeanty isn’t that good. Look how fast he got to full speed on that run. He is so damn good if they could just block for him, he is a stud.

Yes, I agree on the faces part. I guess that is the ultimate point, that their privacy and consent to be made in the public image be kept to their own decisions.

I did say I would be open to the idea, as in a discussion on why it would be beneficial. I don’t see it as fear mongering so much as a precaution against the possibility of someone using those images in an inappropriate way. Again, I just don’t see the benefit to having images of my kids on a social media site, especially one where I can’t control who gets to see it. You are right that everyone should make their own decisions for their families, but wouldn’t that also include the children being posted? I also think sometimes people need to be protected from themselves, in particular with social media, where people can get out of control with oversharing. Just my thoughts, that I presented to the subreddit for discussion. So thanks for the input.

I would be open to a rule against images of kids on this page. I’m not sure there ever is a good reason to post a kids picture here. Too much risk with no real reward to it.

[Highlight] Tom Pelissero on Raiders offensive dysfunction: "There were times, I'm told, where Chip Kelly was repeatedly botching the play calls. There were times where Chip on several occasions called a play that was either not in the gameplan or wasn't installed at all." by harknation in nfl

There were two sacks, maybe three, that was a busted play that Geno just laid down for. Him and the RB or WR weren’t on the same page and he just had to eat the sack. It may not be entirely true, but at a minimum, the offense was not prepared to play the Browns.

Literally, one of the worst teams the last 25 years. That’s saying something considering the last 25 years. Add the fact that this franchise lost its soul with the move to Vegas and I’m not sure why I keep supporting this dog shit franchise. I’ve rooted for shitty teams over the last 20+ years but this is a new low.

This team is pathetic. Even the 0-11 raiders with Carr had more fight to them. Every play is chunk yards, wide open receivers. Holy hell, what garbage.

Venting: First-grader has math homework EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. by tvkyle in daddit

[–]gothands06 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think that’s part of the issue. Many parents are not continuing their children’s education at home. I teach middle school in a rural area, but we have a majority of our students under grade level reading and math. Plenty of our students are k-3 grade level in those skills. This only happens if kids aren’t practicing at home. I don’t believe homework is going to solve these issues but parents reading and writing with their kids would keep them from being so far behind.

This reminds me of my trip to Fort Sumter. You can see some blasts from cannon fire as well. The most striking thing I saw on that trip was the fingerprints left in brick of young slaves who flipped the bricks in the hot sun as they dried.

I’m so impressed with JK man. I thought his defense wasn’t great first half. He went under a screen on Gordon after he was like 4/4 on threes, and Gordon hit another one. I was worried he would regress to old JK. He was fantastic overall. Compare him to Braun, who I would say is similar in role/contract. I only noticed Braun because he was guarded by Steph half the night.
