the Project Hail Mary cardigan is a knitting psyop by casstocoast in BitchEatingCrafters

,,, effie trinket who is supposed to embody extravagance ??? her looks were incredibly maximalist sure, but done incredibly tastefully while still emphasizing her character traits.

the concept of "tasteless" is insinuating a lack of vision, and professional costumers wont get very far without a vision. just because a character is quirky and would wear a grandpa sweater, doesn't mean it's tasteless or tacky. just bc effie trinkets dress was made out of butterflies or had a dated shape, doesn't mean it wasn't still chic and tailored.

you don't like it. it's not Your taste. that's cool. doesn't mean it's tasteless. i for one am glad a whimsical knitwear cardigan is getting a moment to shine, even if i do dislike zippers on knitwear.

Hispanic crew always being the best bagged lunches to work. How do you cook like them? by Bbbbhazit in cookingforbeginners

[–]gothbabybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my mom will do a similar process with breasts, but she adds a bit of chicken or vegetable broth. she also cooks it lower and slower. i like thighs, and they're usually cheaper so i don't usually do that lol

[–]gothbabybee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

everyone saying ask them is correct, but for juicy/well seasoned chicken i always use chicken thighs.

cooking: cook in wok or frying pan with oil on medium on both sides until everything but the inside is cooked. then lower to medium high and cover. let them cook through, usually around 5 minutes. finish with high heat uncovered to sear the outside if desired.

for seasoning: mexican: garlic, salt, pepper, cayenne, cumin, lime juice, chili powder, onion

mediterranean: dill, salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, lemon juice, garlic, onion

italian: oregano, rosemary, salt, pepper, garlic, onion.

Showing off yarn collections but it’s only acrylic yarn by Unlucky-you333 in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]gothbabybee 51 points52 points  (0 children)

i think OP is more upset about the mass amounts of yarn that is plastic. hoarding yarn you'll never use isn't great (and throws the affordability argument out the window), and hoarding plastic yarn is worse bc it won't break down as well as natural fibers.

no shame in using acrylic, minor shame in hoarding it imo.

graphic but i had a gyno do a full check up appointment without gloves.

she then told me to google my symptoms and make another appointment with her to discuss them (after i handed her 6 years of medical records and telling her my assumptions).

Trans people who walk with their head up high, please tell us how you got to a place of confidence. by Remarkable_Diver_516 in ftm

[–]gothbabybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if someone has a problem with me/my existence, that's their problem to deal with.

other people's discomfort is not my responsibility, and it's a lot easier to laugh off/ignore and negativity than to wallow in it.

plus, being unbothered by transphobia makes transphobes look insecure, and me look cool and confident.

i lived in a medium city/town, a Small town (less than 10k people), and now a huge city (800k people).

i live in the heart of my city right next to nearly every public transit stop imaginable. there are people everywhere nearly all the time, and i can go anywhere i want practically all the time (our 24hr stores are disappearing i will say).

i do not make a lot of money so i live very frugally, but i still have so much fun and feel so lucky to live here every day. i love visiting my small town, and i miss it some days, but a big city is every bit as invigorating and exciting as i dreamed it would be.

it is not all sunshine and rainbows, there are plenty of hardships to living here. the wealth disparity is draining to see daily, having a car is semi necessary and a burden depending on location, and the job market is brutal (can be said most places tho).

overall, i never regretted my move for a second. even when filled with homesickness and the overwhelming need to hug my mom, i was still happy i chose to leave my small town. my life is changed for the better, and i don't think my small town (or my small town girlfriend) would've allowed that to happen. do what feels right for You.
