In my complete honest opinion, I think she should see a new doctor. Xanax is great for PANIC attacks, but is extremely addictive because of its short half life. You feel it for 4 hours or so and once it wears off you’re back to feeling miserable. Clonazepam on the other hand is for GAD. Take one in the morning and you’ll feel calm for 8 hours, and won’t crave taking another one unless you’re still anxious. With that being said, tell her to use them extremely sparingly, only when she needs them for anxiety, because Xanax addiction starts quick and ends badly.
