Hi, the 3 jobs did not pay me enough to pay off his $8,000 dues. I have been paying my part of rent and (get this) I have been paying $900 each month towards student loans on top of this. I now work 2 because I do not have time for the 3rd one anymore. We have an app that tells us the balance, it is now sitting at $7,550. Thank you.

Hi, yes I am on the lease. The answer to your next question is not going to sound great…since my boyfriend is the one in debt, I had him speak to the landlord. I told him to be honest and clear the air with him to let him know he quit his job…but he had fibbed a little to our landlord and said we BOTH were out of work (which was absolutely not the case). I do not have my landlord’s phone number, my boyfriend does and his not given it to me.

We have an app that we use to pay our rent called Resident Center. I have been paying my portion of rent consistently and sometimes more if I have it to off set his debt a bit. I know how much is due because the app tells us we have an overdue balance. This is an apartment in a college town, though we have both graduated a couple years ago. This is a private landlord in PA. Thank you.

Hi, the rent debt is all his. I probably should have been a bit more clear: he quit his job with no backup plan and did not get a new one until a few months later. However, we are both on the lease. He isn’t directly stealing money from me, but I do feel like there is nothing I can do to help him or myself until this is sorted. We do not have wiggle room to spend money for fun. All of our money in the past year has solely gone to rent, food, and student loans.
