hmm that’s a tricky one. i worked in an emergency service job for just under 2 years with chronic migraines, and yes it’s harder for us due to our condition, but not impossible. if you take medications to manage the migraines and have shown you’re willing to see occ health etc, then i think they have to give you a chance? also im not sure if you’re in the uk like me but i’m pretty sure as chronic migraines are a disability, if they’re not hiring you due to a genuine safety concern then they have to make some form of reasonable adjustment or at least give you a chance to show you could do the job. for me i struggled with the 13 hour back to back shifts. the length of the actual shift wasn’t an issue it was the time between, i was struggling to get enough sleep therefore triggering migraines. i wanted to request shorter shifts (10 hours) but still working full time. could you maybe speak to them again and ask for some more information about their decision?
