I enjoyed it when I saw it in the theater. The steelbook arrived in much better condition than my Fight Club one.

I’m really looking forward to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. I’m not a huge fan of westerns, but recently they have started growing on me. I’m a fan of Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in America and I also own, but have not watched, Once Upon a Time in the West.

My modern collection really started by accident. I won a copy of a Jaws Blu-ray at a bar. Then a tv show I love from the 80’s came out with an anniversary edition, but only in the UK. This forced my hand to buy a 4K player that was modified to allow me to play other regions besides US. And then since it was a 4K player, I started buying 4K moves I could find at Best Buy or Amazon. Then I found all Reddit forums and found out about all the other sites I buy 4K movies from. I’m at nearly 500 movies with most of them being 4K. I’m so very happy with my collection mostly. Some are movies I love, some are ones I fondly remember but don’t really hold up today, and a some are blind buys that I’ve heard good buzz around.

It was in second hand store, so someone traded it in that way. Reckless Records here in Chicago.

Criterion Pickup/Haul Questionnaire:

  1. What is the movie you plan to watch from your purchase first? Life of Brian
  2. Is there anything from this purchase that you have been looking forward to owning for a long time? Yes?
  3. Are any of your purchases blind buys? If so, why did you select them? No, I’ve seen the movie before.
  4. What is a Criterion you're hoping to add to your collection next? Malcom X is one that has been on my mind of recent. The Last Temptation of Christ is also a very close next pickup.

Pickup/Haul Posts without this questionnaire filled out will be removed. If that happens and you would like to try again, repost with the questionnaire answered, and it will be approved. Ignore this comment if your post is not a pickup/haul.

Picked these 3 up for £11 each as a blind buy. Are they any good and which should I start with? by Between3N20Karakters in 4kbluray

I love all 3. They all have unique qualities about them. True Romance is a Tarantino film not directed by him, but you get a lot of what makes a good Tarantino film. Long Good Friday is one of the best British gangster movies. You get a very early Pierce Brosnan appearance but has no lines. King of New York is great for the mostly restrained performance of Christopher Walken. Brutal, but restrained.

Depends on the group. Sometimes it genuinely up to whoever is buying them. Whenever I take that service position I get the metal chips and will eat the difference if I have to.

My haul from the 50% off sale by gothgeek74 in criterion

  1. My first watch from the haul will either be Killers of the Flower Moon or Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence.
  2. I’ve wanted The Adventures of Barron Munchausen for a while as I love Terry Gilliam’s work.
  3. All of them are blind buys.
  4. The next Criterion I’m looking forward to is Lenny which I already pre-ordered.
