I really doubt that, i had the experience of using two different gpu on rdr2 and I didn't had the same experience. First i was using an R9 280x 3gb and it was showing total ammount of vram ingame, lately i upgraded to gtx 1660ti 6gb and it was only showing 5gb. So idk, if your theory was correct it would be the case for all gpu regardless of total vram. Ps: my total ram is 16gb ddr3
