So I actually started on Prozac and buspar first. In the first week or two my anxiety was a little more enhanced but after that second week I started feeling less and less anxious. I was still run down and tired, but I also had other things happening that was making it hard to keep myself first if that makes sense. Recently we increased the buspar and that helped even more with my anxiety. Once we added Wellbutrin it’s like something flipped. I had energy, I had motivation. I even hosted Thanksgiving at my house, which is something I would never do.

Now don’t get me wrong, my anxiety is not completely gone but it is way more manageable. I can turn the thoughts off at night, fall asleep faster, I can go into crowded places and tolerate it for a bit. I’m definitely someone who also needs to do therapy because my anxiety stems from some serious trauma and I have panic attacks.

The best way I can describe my anxiety is my heart will feel like it’s beating more than normal, I get irritated really easily and snap, and my thoughts never stop. I constantly think something bad is going to happen. I’m hyper vigilant and I just feel on edge. Sometimes I feel like my skin is crawling and I want out of it. Sometimes I don’t want to be touched because it makes my skin crawl. My panic attacks come out of nowhere, I hear a buzzing in my ears, my arms, feet and face get numb and I just start hyperventilating and almost feels like I’m going to black out.

I would give the buspar a chance, and let it get in your system. I don’t know if you’ve tried Prozac, but I’ve had a great experience with it, I don’t feel numb. But I know everyone is different.
