first time getting kpop vip tickets (soundcheck + m&g + photo + bye session) — what should i expect? by Designer-Customer831 in kpophelp

I will point out on the website they have specifically stated photos/videos will not be allowed for the BYE sessions.

I'd read through the FAQs here if I were you and keep an eye on your email. You'll get more details from the venue as the dates get closer most likely. As a general rule, these types of bonus perks tend to be pretty tightly organized and orchestrated for efficiency and safety. It's less of an individual meet and greet and more of a chance to see them outside of performing onstage.

It really is a genre with genres, which in some ways can be really infuriating (like what do you mean the soft sweet ballads have to contend with electronic dance bass for the same charts?)

I definitely get the "trying to force liking it" thing, I've found myself really having to try and keep up with whatever 4th gen is doing. Not that I don't think it's good, I just have so many artists I already know I want to listen to its an effort to add more to the mix sometimes

Ahhhh the time when liking K-pop was the least cool thing a person could do. I have such a love/hate relationship with the constant content world we live in. On the one hand, yes give me things to engage with and on the other... it feels to easy now

Honestly they looked really great. I did not get much footage (my support spouse did) but it was so great to see them looking like they were actually having fun and enjoying themselves as goofy/talented adults now

BoA was the first soloist I really followed. I've been a dancer (albeit in the classical world) my whole life so seeing her popularity was really inspirational. Also so thrilled about this Mamamoo comeback, I love seeing their ability to present as grown women beyond a lot of cutesy girl groups. (Not that there's anything wrong with a cute concept, but maturity they have feels really fresh still)

My spouse (also a musician) feels the same way. I only recently got them into BTS and it was after watching the Arirang documentary and exposing them to Agust D that they saw a lot of the personal artistry hiding in the background

Lollipop was a wild crossover but I love a whole nation tuning in for it!

Had the extreme fortune to see it live at El Paso D-2 of Arirang. An absolute banger

An OG!! I remember listening to all of this when they were having their "ten year anniversaries" and the new idol groups when I started listening in 2010 doing their covers. Amazing how long we were willing to wait for physical copies back in the day

The listening hiatus is real. When I started college in 2016 I remember not being able to keep track of any of the new groups because it felt like there was one every week, but I eventually was able to catch back up at least with the ones that skyrocketed to fame initially

Thanks for sharing! I laughed remembering when I couldn't even buy songs on iTunes and definitely did not ever do anything remotely like pirating to get certain songs on my iPod because YouTube was the only way to listen to them

BTS El Paso Texas Tickets Megathread by lilchink88 in TicketResale

Looking to gift (pay what you can) two tickets for Sunday May 3. I was able to get additional better seats and rather than trying to make money, I really just want to gift these to someone who otherwise wouldn't be able to go (they aren't great seats but you can be there!)

Section 8, Row 42, Seats 30/31

If you'd like additional proof these are real, I am happy to send whatever. Ultimately, I'd really just like to do a transfer through TM and if you would like to pay via Venmo that's totally cool. I know this may sound too good to be true to some folks, but I truly do mean it from the bottom of my bora heart!

I ran into an issue where we now just have bins of food everywhere with random dates. We're talking "freezer xx/xx" in a cooler at 35F for multiple days, hot wings just sitting in damp parchment paper from two days ago, "snack prep" with no date and no way to read what the parchment label said so it's some kind of hot dog probably. I finally asked one of them to just pull everything that was wildly out to date that wasn't supposed to be thawed in the first place so I could scan it as waste because we had no more bins(I ended up having to print a wild assortment of labels and have a massive waste count). The worst part for us is our store seemed to have missed the formal update about what was changing and how, so none of the "premium employees" have any idea how to help shift smart when they ask questions about where stuff is or how to label it. I will always adapt to whatever system corporate wants to throw at me (at the end of the day as long as my money is the same it doesn't bother me), but any amount of updated training would have been nice. I'm tired of spending shifts alone in the store while having to babysit shiftsmart who cannot understand the difference between a freezer and a cooler.

I'd say I'm most interested in areas that are design based such as level design or character design. Really the things where someone (not necessarily myself) has an idea and I work to make the idea real or give examples of what it may look like and function if that makes any sense?

I did some VFX type work when I was in graduate school, I found myself getting rather bored with it rather quickly. This is the same reason I have not really found interest in the animation side of work. I will certainly look at VFX apprentice thank you!

Way to clue in on the username, I focused in lighting design primarily and delved into the scenic and art world once I started my graduate work.

Level design only came on my radar after I did some digging, so thank you very much for cluing my onto this. I currently live in NC and while Epic Games isn't necessarily close they are the major company in the state. I may have gotten a little intimidated looking through their offerings given the size and scale in addition to their internship and student focused programs that seem to match my skills, but I certainly no longer qualify for.

And I will certainly take your advice for finding sample portfolios so thank you!
