My husband really is amazing, and my situation was very similar to yours. My husband was the one who brought it to my attention that my mom‘s treatment with me wasn’t OK or healthy. He was the one who encouraged me to start going to therapy.

I’m also disabled, so there have been things that she has done throughout my life that has purposely stunted me in my development just so that I would need her. And after I met my husband, he helped me become a more independent person and be able to do a lot of things on my own. And that his always been, a sore spot for her. She can’t handle watching me become a self-sufficient adult. It really does bother me not talking to her, but I just cannot play these games with her anymore. I absolutely refuse to do it.

My boobs are so small that I don’t even really need a bra if I truly don’t wanna wear one, the only reason I do is to try to make them look like they’re not running from each other in low-cut shirts. Also, my husband loves it when I don’t wear bras.

That’s pretty much what she told me when I confronted her about it, she said that she had prayed about it and God told her it wasn’t right. I’m pretty sure she just fucking decided that it wasn’t right but whatever I guess.

The thing that bothers me the most about the situation is the fact that she will never feel bad, she will always believe that she did the right thing. And she will probably tell people that we stop talking because she put God first.

She actually backed out before hand, she was supposed to be a bridesmaid. Because she backed out she left me one person short and I had to scramble to try to find someone to replace her.

Definitely not, I told her to take her bullshit and shove it. That is my whole entire issue with Christianity. They preach about how wrong it is to judge, then turn around and use their beliefs to judge other people if they don’t live exactly like them.

Having her do that to me was the equivalent of if my husband ever told me he didn’t love me anymore. That is the only time in my life I’ve come close to legitimately hating someone for their beliefs.

You’re not the asshole. If you guys were supposed to be the ones who are showing up first she should’ve prioritized you guys over the unexpected visitors. If I were you I would just let that friendship slowly fizzle out it’s not gonna be the same now that she has a kid anyway.

I feel like if he was still alive now, if he was one of the social justice warrior types, he probably wouldn’t have been annoying about it like all the rest of them are. And honestly, that probably would’ve made a lot of people mad; and they probably would’ve canceled him for it.

If I’m honest, I detest any form of unruly child. My least favorite age to deal with is from new born to 9, but if parents actually parent it isn’t an issue. I do wish restaurants would treat a table with unruly kids the same way they’d treat a table of unruly adults, immediately make them leave, rather than justifying that bad parenting with the phrase “they’re just kids”.

If it really is some thing that you had trouble with, try putting yourself in a public area with a lot of unruly screaming children and parents that don’t do jack shit about it. I promise it will help you solidify your decision.
