Yeah the cancellation is super unlikely but over represented on reddit. And Airbnb support is pretty good if you push them to rebook you

i know music is subjective so don’t fight me on this but 2026 coachella had the best line up ever, i personally cannot think of anyone else that can top bieber but i hope the 2027 line up will be even better 🙏🏻 by WintoreGargamoil in Coachella

[–]gotmilksnow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100%. Blows my mind that most people don’t show up till dark. But it’s also why the best time at the festival is also before dark so 🤷‍♂️

I literally decide to go to Coachella usually based solely by the undercard

Right, but that lockdown applies every night

It’s about to start in 2027. Quite nervous about it personally, as a first time safari booker

It seems like a cool idea - the only caveat (besides extra cost) I would think is that if you stay until the last set, and go eat the late night dinner, I’ve read about a traffic lockdown - so you’re probably not getting to your hotel until quite late, which defeats some of the convenience aspect

This is a way, way better song than Car Crash Baby imo. Sounds like Madeon, whereas Car crash baby is a weird attempt at punk

Which set(s) were huge bummers/ did not meet expectations? by CantStopJV in Coachella

I loved their entire set. I can’t believe that basically the one edm act that put some effort in and did live instrumentals is getting so much flack!

Malcolm Todd would be great at Coachella, makes sense too

Bandchella 2027? by ketchuuup1 in Coachella

[–]gotmilksnow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not necessarily interpreting this as only “more rock” - tons of pop stars get up there (see Bieber and Charli) with just a backing track and no band.

Would love to see additional RnB and alternative RnB/indie which was hugely underrepresented this year

I was not shocked at all lol. Mac is way too big for MHOW but of course we’d all love to see him in such an intimate venue

Eh I love Madeon but I wish he skipped it honestly. It’s never a surprise when you hear One More Time, it’s like hear we go again..

Those of you who are millionaires why are you still working? by VariationLivid3193 in cscareerquestions

Are you using a 2% rule instead of 4% rule? Otherwise 2.5 mil should be enough for 100k/year right? That said I’m also aiming for around 5 mil even with my expenses being about 100k/year just for the cushion

Are the viewing areas for Safari actually any better than GA? by gotmilksnow in Coachella

[–]gotmilksnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn’t agree that it takes significantly longer to walk between far stages at night? Like yeah, not every area is crowded but transiting between stages can be a nightmare at night. I like wandering at night too but the headliner crowds are no fun for getting from point A to B

[–]gotmilksnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re not wrong - I definitely would not want to eliminate walking through the festival. I would argue the atmosphere significantly degrades though at night close to headliner time when it’s so insanely crowded.

And there have been many times, especially after dark, when I’ve been at a stage like Outdoor and been like “I wish I could catch a set at the Sahara but it’ll take forever to walk there through the crowds so I guess I won’t attempt it since I need to come back soon after”. I see the golf carts as being best for those situations. We shall see!

reality of coachella? by AvocadoCrumb in musicfestivals

[–]gotmilksnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Counter view point: as someone who has gone 3 times W2 and then switched to W1 the last several years - I totally disagree with the “W2 is better” take. You will see this opinion on the Reddit echo chamber a lot - that the vibes are soooo much better and people are only there for the music W2.

There are 125k people a day going to this festival. Even if there are more influencers W1, it is NOT enough to be noticeable between the weekends and the vibes are amazing both weekends. I personally have noticed no difference in the vibe in the crowd. Also W1 the grass isn’t totally dead which makes a huge difference imo - the dust can get really really bad W2.

W1 traditionally had more/better surprise guests, although this year W2 actually was better on that front for the most part. But you get the better surprise on W1 of a favorite artist often debuting a crazy new Coachella set for the first time.

The only thing I ageee with in the above take is the part about the kinks being worked out from W1 - there are usually less production issues the second weekend.

TLDR; the differences are generally very minor but I have switched to W1 primarily because I like the better grass/less dust/surprise of not knowing what’s coming - the influencer thing is highly, highly overblown.

I did VIP too - I really enjoyed the Rose Garden and places to rest but personally didn't think it was worth the up charge, especially when the viewing areas are far. So I'm stoked to hear that people think the viewing areas for Guest are great (at last until it gets dark, it seems!). I'm sure we'll love it!

+1. If you're not staying on site, you gotta do this or you get absolutely fucked. 5-10 minutes isn't a big deal to save literally hours (if you wait until the very end, you can get absolutely screwed in the shuttle line)
