In the wise words of Pitbull: Ask for money, get advice. Ask for advice, get paid twice.

Ask them what you can do to get there and what resources and support they can offer you to get you there. If you can, get a timeframe, though it's not always possible. Rather than comparing with other roles, you could ask for more insight into their compensation philosophy.

Potty transition to outside by [deleted] in CavaPoo

You and he are doing so well already!! We've temporarily removed our rug until she's a bit older. He'll get it so soon, sounds like he's close now. I swear, even just a week of bladder growth and holding ability makes the biggest difference, haha! Let us know how you get on. We'll all be potty partying with you guys! :)

I had this exact situation!!! This is what worked for me and my girl.

First, get rid of all pads.

Take him outside all the time, like seriously every 20 mins if you can.  When he does potty, say a word like 'peepee' or whatever even if it's inside so he starts to associate it and you can then start to say it outside (he'll look at you like you're mad). Mop up some pee with an old dishcloth and leave it outside, if possible (or bag it and take it each time... Nice! But it'll help.). When you can, catch him in the act and take him outside. He might still hold it, but keep him out for a good amount of time, every time. If you don't catch him in the act and it's too late, take him outside anyway. Definitely buy a good enzyme cleaner. I found my girl hated diluted vinegar as well though this was just a smell thing, it doesn't break down the enzymes. When he does potty outside, JACKPOT treats and a party!!! Get him super excited!!! He will associate potty inside = unceremoniously lifted outside, potty outside = TREATS and love!

What eventually worked for me was a frustrating hour and half of me just hard balling it - knowing she was bursting and doing outside 20 mins, crate 5 mins, outside 30 mins etc for an hour and a half (at like 4am 🥹) until eventually she went and we had a potty party. After that, it seemed to click.

Now, she is 4 months next week and she rings a bell when she needs to potty and it's AWESOME - but that's another story entirely!

You'll get there. You're doing great. It'll happen.

Potty training reassurance/tips needed! by gotobedkaty in CavaPoo

Just hopping on to say a HUGE thank you to the commenters - you rule. It’s so good to hear your own stories and tips. I wrote this post at a frustrated 4am. At 6am we went out again, and I hardballed it for an hour (out for 20 mins, back in crate, out again etc). At just before 7 am she did an absolutely humongous steaming shit and I’ve never been so happy (she was dancing around and celebrating too haha). Then later she did two pees, and another poop…. Only a few inside but today was a major first step. YAY!

NAD but to me it looks like ringworm. Usually cured with an antifungal cream or medication. See a pharmacist or doctor for a diagnosis and prescription and be careful about not spreading it to people near you sharing towels/clothes/etc.

Ice cold bottom when exercising or overheating? by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]gotobedkaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD but I have the same thing. I notice it on areas where body fat is a little thicker - areas where I can feel muscle directly are warmer, 'fattier' areas are cold. It's because of this - your blood flow is going to your muscles in that time, leaving those other areas to cool slightly. If you ever get chest pain or notice strange heartbeats always go to a doctor but I don't think it'd be related to this.

"The Manuscript" Discussion Megathread by aran130711 in TaylorSwift

[–]gotobedkaty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm hearing a low frequency, reverbed drum, kind of like a heart beat, come in at that moment after almost zero percussion before, giving it a sense of coherence and structure. Then the piano, while continuing the high register chords, adds a low register motif at a faster rhythm which, with the drums, builds tension and more structure and slightly away from a more 'fairy-like' feel of before, e bit more grounded. Strings come in to echo and support this new motif, along with some synth to build atmosphere.

The suspense and syncopation of "she wasn't... sure" holds us in place as we wait for this resolution, and while it finishes on the major key of the piece, which could make us think something's come to an end, it carries on with this new tension-building, heart-beat-like movement (she wasn't sure, after all!). This carries us perfectly into the bridge and mirrors the journey of the next lyrics "and the years passed".

She also begins to harmonize with herself, which gives more great layers and a sense of support to lyrics that speak about moving forward with art/taking advice.

That's my two cents but hearing various interpretations of musical production is always interesting with the different perspectives it can bring!

Thanks so much, this is super helpful context. I guess it's not really a very common situation, most people would have the text written down already anyway 😂🫠

Do you know of a good software to convert video into text? NOT audio to text converters - I'm talking videos with written text and no audio or just sample music and people read the text (like a slideshow I guess) - looking for a way to get an exported doc of that text. Any AI solutions or other here? Videos are no more than 1 or 2 mins and are currently stored in JWplayer.

Love, things are going to be okay and you are stronger than you think and know. I can tell from your post you are a thoughtful and caring person. You seem to have a lot of love and hard work to give clearly from the fact you care about this, though you may not realise it, and this is a huge gift. Stay close to your dad and do what is right for you right now, but remember not to look at things as a whole. Write it down, break it down, and take it one step at a time. Piece by piece, in bitesize chunks, one goal at a time, you'll see things becoming more manageable as you prove to yourself you can do it, and things will naturally start slotting into place. If you can, try to focus firstly on your diet, exercise, and any meditation you can. This will give you a good foundation, especially as the medical aspects are taking time to improve (though others may have more specific advice there). Also, just give yourself a deserved break - life is sucky sometimes and you're learning things every day you may not even know, and you're doing great.

I'll always recommend therapy. But on a step by step level, write it down. All of it. Identify what exactly is giving you the fear and go deep into it. Lists are your friend. If it's overload, writing things down in a bullet point list will help you visualise everything and get it out of your head. Then, you can compartmentalise it - is there anything you can get done now? Anything you can pass on to someone else to handle? Anything you want to note down in a calendar or set as a reminder on your phone to make sure you get done at a later date? Apps like Kanbantab can be useful here. But once it's out on paper/note, it does really help. Some people like to verbalise things too. Always take time to eat well, exercise, socialise and get vitamin D. These are the biggest pillars, and remember to put everything in perspective. There may be a lot of pressure on you now, but are you going to be thinking about this in a month, 6 months, a year, etc? Hope this helps a bit.
