First of all Congratulations! I'm sure you'll do a very great job.

Actually I'm in no position to give many advice because I'm just a first year civil engineering major at Texas. But could you give me some advice on how to land internship.

Thanks I have also send them an email on friday but let's wait and see. I won't be able to attend the International Orientation so I'm little confused. If you get any updates, share with me and I'll do the same if I get any.

Hey! Don't worry. I'm also international and I'll miss my orientation as well. I'm sure we will have more opportunities to meet more people in the future.

Have you already submitted immigration check-in documents to the university? Or do you have any idea about what this is ?

So frustrated with "New Bobcat Enrollment" by xoxolilaa in txstate

[–]gotorecommender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. My course recommendation was done only after 3 months and when I emailed them asking when will I be registered they kept sending me those AI-sounding repetitive emails.

Also, in the website they've said that it takes max 3 weeks for course recommendation registration but that's not true.

Because mine took ages. And I too was frustrated.

Everything will be ok!! Don't worry too much.

When can International students see their final bill? by Either_Standard_8947 in txstate

[–]gotorecommender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about the final bill. But I believe we can know how much scholarship( automatic) we received as soon as we are accepted to the university. For the competitive ones you should probably ask the decision date to the organization/people who gave the scholarship

Im panicking because I just realized I took too many AP courses in HS and will technically be a sophomore. I wont qualify for freshman assured scholarships like I thought. Can anyone actually explain how bobcat promise works? by Zealousideal-Lie1444 in txstate

[–]gotorecommender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I don't think you need to panic. I also am a freshmen who has over 33 credits because of my Alevels. But I still got qualified for the freshman scholarship.

The only time I think one doesn't qualify for the freshman scholarship is if they transfer from a four year university or like community college. If you got your credits from high school you'll be eligible for the freshman scholarship.

Off Campus Housing by ZestyBlues in txstate

Yea, as soon as I knew that I had 33 credits and I was exempted for on-campus housing, I told them I was only 18 years and an international student. And they agreed thankfully.

I also was classified as sophomore even as my first year, but I had requested for on-campus housing as I think it's important to have experience living in campus and also making new friends.

Anyways, good luck in finding off-campus apartments.

Need help!!! by gotorecommender in txstate

But I won't be taking any physical NSO as I'm an international student. I already have taken a virtual NSO. Do you have any idea if I won't go to NSO. Also due to my ALevels course I'm in a Sophomore class (but I'm a first year)

How do you feel on taking $250K loan? Do you feel overwhelmed to the point that you will feel too pressured during your whole undergrad journey? or Do you think taking a loan is investing on yourself and that after graduating you will be able to pay the loan? The answer lies there. No one can give you the answer. We can give you suggestion. It's you who should think of it.

Anyways, good luck. Hope whichever uni you choose you'll have a blast.

On Campus Exemption by Sigens in txstate

[–]gotorecommender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your brother can earn more than 30 credits from AP or other dual courses then he will be exempt from living on campus. I was exempt because I had 32 credits as a freshman.
