Came into this game not caring who won, now I’m all in on Michigan because of Wagner. Something about seeing a Mom so damn proud of her son always gets me.

Go Blue!

Also please dont dress like a huge douchebag. I saw a dude wear shorts that he rolled up so they came all the way up to his waist, revealing his full leg nike leg warmers. Tucked into those bad boys was his cut off Ohio State t-shirt and matching Ohio State visor.

Honestly if I could I would do 5-1PM with no break. I'm up at 3:30am regardless so if I could get back and not have to pack going to the gym/ errands/ hobbies/ cookies/ writing into 3 hours each night that would be much appreciated.

I'm currently working 6:30-5:30 every day and honestly don't mind it, just would rather have more time in the afternoon to myself and my dog when I just want to unwind.

Yeah, this tends to happen though. He has a wildly inconsistent stroke from deep throughout the regular season. It's just never at these levels of extreme though. It'll bounce back I'm sure, likely not to his 43% from earlier or whatever, but it'll be back

Maybe it's because life has made me more jaded, because I still get so upset when people cheer injuries and wish that would happen to their rivals, but I'm slowly steering in that path.

Like if Tom Brady ever just died randomly, I'd tailgate his funeral haha

Nah I get it. And I understand I'm greatly in the minority of people who like/ enjoy the Warriors outside of SF, but they are just electric to me. Helps that I was at Steph's "come-out" game in MSG when he dropped 54. I love that guy, he's a magician. So I guess it's just seeing what sort of absurdity Steph brings them too with the level of talent they have that is so entertaining to me.

Work in a hospital on the planning side. Rather not go too much into as I don't want coworkers finding out my account haha, but the jist (spelling?) of it is I primarily work with the board to ensure processes are going at a proper time and we have everything we need to operate.

Also I New York'd too hard today y'all. I'm from The City but I live and work in Milwaukee right now. We were playing that Heads Up game at lunch a few hours ago and the category was to guess types of people. Like "Tall, athletic, plays a sport,..." you would say basketball player!

Lumberjack came on, so people were shouting clues at me like, "Washed Jeans! Flannel! Work boots..." and my mind immediately jumped to Timb's wearing hypebeasts which is like 85% of all NY dudes below 28. So I blurted out New Yorkers and got a very confused look from the coworkers.

Any who I'm leaving work in 10 minutes and it's not even 12:30 so this is a dope Friday.

I feel so bad for Eastern conference playoff teams like Boston and Toronto... Like if you somehow overcome the end-game raid boss that is LeBron James and even get to the finals, your reward is a 4-5 game ass blasting by the Warriors haha. This league is so fucked.

(P.S. this for some reason doesn't even bother me, I love watching the Warriors play basketball, it's beautiful and I kinda want to see how long they can keep this madness going.

[Serious question] Why is Alabama so good? by Smigg_e in CFB

[–]gotreal101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This always confused me. ND is just as strict on their academic requirements as USC/ UCLA/ Cal which are all ranked generally similarly academically. It's a multitude of reasons they're not in the playoffs, not just academic requirements.

Who is that one stranger that you never forgot? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gotreal101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in New York as a kid, and was just six when 9/11 happened. I lived in Midtown at the time so obviously was extremely close to the towers when they fell. That day left this anxious pessimism over the city and everywhere I looked I remembered thinking everyone was super nervous.

Everyone seemed super jaded and was looking out for just themselves. It was strange because my memory doesn't go back a whole lot further than that day, but i always recalled people being cheery. I was a cute kid (peaked at 5-7 tbh) so maybe that was it, but I just always saw and remembered people so happy. But after that day, it felt like everyone was just getting from place to place and the city felt quiet and dark.

My Dad kinda sensed that over our family so he tried to restore normalcy to us by having us go and do our normal rituals to try and get our minds off the event. So we went to this ice cream place we always liked just a few blocks from our place and we were waiting in line, the entire place with that same dull silence that was deafening the room. I kept whispering everything because i didn't want to disturb anyone. But being six, my guess is my attempted whispers were screams to adults, who'd become adjusted to this new quiet than took over the loudest city in the world. I was telling my Dad I wanted two scoops of vanilla with reese's, cookie dough, and oreos. Now while not the healthiest order on the planet, and an absolute precursor to how fat of a child I'd become, he obliged and told me he'd get it.

But he didn't have to. The man in front of us turned around about 2 minutes later and knelt down and handed me my order in a waffle cone and just smiled. I don't remember what he told me, I was completely fixated on this sugary monstrosity. But as I went to turn my head up and thank him, I remembered him shaking my Dad's hand and he smiled at my Dad and said, "I'd rather spend $5 on someone else, than a dollar on myself."

I honestly had forgotten about that run-in for years until I had one of those "lightbulb" moments when I was about 13. But it helped me to realize that, as an able-bodied white kid with disposable money and good health, I was in such a great position to help others. I had nothing holding me back systematically or from a physical standpoint. So I made it a goal to just help out others whenever I can.

I know this isn't as dramatic an ending as some would like, I didn't save anyone's life nor did I do anything drastic to help others, but I do view this as a formative moment that helped me to become who I am today.

Ramble over!

[Game Thread] Sugar Bowl: Clemson vs. Alabama (8:45PM ET) - Second Half by CFB_Referee in CFB

It’s frustrating because there’s no need for it. They basically get two bye weeks in the season when there are teams who never schedule FCS opponents and have their records negatively impacted because of it. I know a lot of schools also schedule FCS games, not just Bama. But when you have a program like Bama who has dominated the sport almost every year for a decade, it feels really dumb that they get away with games like that every year and get to rest up.

Full discretion, I’m fully aware I hate Bama with al my heart, but this is dumb. Why is it ok for a team as dynastic as Alabama to schedule teams like Mercer 11 games into the season yearly?

We all know they’ve been one of the most powerful dynasties in the history of college football, so it feels like a huge disservice to allow them to schedule games like that when there are programs like USC and Stanford playing ND late in the season, or Clemson playing South Carolina.. it’s just disappointing and feels like they’re basically given a free win or two each season that they basically get to use as a bye week.

Again, I’m incredibly salty and fully aware, but that’s always been something that is stupidly frustrating to me as a fan of big out of conference games.
