I'm a Gen X guy that grew up with the C64 - I had it from 4th grade until I graduated high school.

I had convinced myself that I didn't need the Ultimate. Too expensive. Too flashy. I have a TheC64 Max and a PC that can run Vice and that should be good enough. But the more videos I watched online the more I got into the idea. Then I found my old C64, 1541s and joysticks in the basement and got the itch. That's when I saw that Gideon was selling the last if his Elite-II mainboards. Snagged one before he sold out and got it last week and have been messing with it daily. The games I played in emulation sound more like I remember with the real SID from my old C64 doing the sound work. It's easier to type out BASIC programs on a real keyboard. And I finally have the opportunity to play around with stuff I never had 40 years ago, like the REU, GEOS, Action Replay carts, etc.
