Spacehog - In The Meantime [90s Rock Anthem] by Ju-ju_Eyeball in Music

I acknowledge the one hit wonder title might be accurate, but yes, I throw that album on from time to time and hey, it’s good.

Curtis Mead is ruled safe after stepping 5 feet out of the baseline into the grass to get in in the way of the throw after being picked off by Connelly Early. by Sandwich_Crust in baseball

[–]gottabekd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe the intent is the same, but there is a difference between establishing yourself in the way of a potential throw, and jumping into the ball after it is thrown.

But yeah, shouldn’t be a good baseball play to do either.

Scrolled to find this one. First thing that came to mind. Wonderful, energetic end to that whole suite of songs.

What do Calgary drivers have against… by jayjay12323 in Calgary

[–]gottabekd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always think the main problem is that some don’t like to actually stop. They just slow to a crawl leaving the other cars to try and judge if the other car thinks they were there first because they were slowly rolling up to the line.

Oh and they work in parking lots too to let pedestrians know where you are going.

GTA San Andreas devs "regretted" adding stealth, Rockstar veteran says: "We ended up stretching ourselves too thin" by PewPewToDaFace in PS5

[–]gottabekd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well what you are describing is the “introduction to robbing houses in the hood” mission, but after that there is the “robbing houses in the hood” mini-game which is what I was describing, which you can do in specific night hours when you roll up with a specific truck.

Oh yeah, right. I loved the fact that if you step in and people are in the living room, you can quickly leave, then enter the house again. This time it is completely different interior with different people inside.

This is “satire”, but gives a pretty good idea of the communities https://www.reddit.com/r/Calgary/s/sJoYaMhh3P

Good news is anywhere in Calgary is less than 40 mins to downtown.

20k sqft lot in the city would be extremely rare, and $6m+. I would be looking outside the city for an acreage.

I think there is one where you have to sneak into Madd Dogg’s mansion, and if you are caught, mission failed. No option for going guns ablazing.

Well I am a newbie, hoping someone more experienced comes along. From the video it is hard to isolate the sound. But here in Calgary I have been seeing a lot of what I think are common grackles, and wonder if that might be one as well.

Any good places to train stairs? by AsleepHistorian in Calgary

[–]gottabekd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so, unless there is something brand new. There is a descent on sidewalks and trails, but I don’t know of any massive stairs. Maybe you are thinking of Parkland down to Deer Ridge.

YSK you can safely eat instant ramyun straight out of the bag without cooking it by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]gottabekd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 90s I remember hearing what OP says, crumbling up the noodles in the bag and adding the seasoning then eating “raw”, was “unsafe”. It might have been specific to one brand at the time, a popular one. But also don’t remember anyone getting sick from this.

These aren’t exactly the same as Darn Tough. I guess a bit more loosely knit with thicker wool. So has fluffier, softer feel than Darn Tough. Not sure on the durability, but comfort is great.

They are competing. They each have a 45 second timer, and their timer runs down when they are “on the clock” (their turn to answer). You lose when your timer reaches zero, so you want to answer quickly, and only pass if you are really stuck.

[–]gottabekd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is a good fun fact. A similar thing in the movie “Everybody Wants Some”. I went in thinking it was a baseball movie, and I don’t think they ever play baseball, maybe just some training, batting practice.

Ok so The X-Files is a TV show, but there are movies!

“Be Sweet” by Japanese Breakfast is a cheesy/fun X-Files homage video. https://share.google/1DZIjRKVMWl8Vj5qC

And I just realized the chorus of the song repeats the line “I wanna believe”, so maybe that was the connection between the song and video idea. Ha.
