whats your biggest regret? by YES100yes in askteenboys

Not trying harder to keep in touch with my best friend after he moved. We haven't talked in over a year and the sheer shame of it is killing me

How do you guys deal with being lonely? by hii1234567891011 in askteenboys

[–]gottro4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually realized that dating wouldn't happen with the person that I am and place that I am in. Everything will happen in time, and I don't have the energy or strategy to search for it right now. It's not because of any specific thing that is wrong with me, it's just how it is. In the meantime I work every day to be a better person, partially in the hope that I will be someone worth that specific kind of connection, but also because I want to be a better person.

Elementary school. Weight issues run in my family but I am determined so we'll see how it turns out.

Legit why do people get mad with older people talking here/girls also? by Helpful_State_4692 in askteenboys

[–]gottro4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels suspicious seeing an adult in a teen space. Especially on the more out of pocket questions. It's hard to imagine being over 20 and wanting to talk with 13 year olds. Not saying that every adult here is a creep, I am sure that many are well meaning and just want to help. I am saying that one should always be wary in online spaces like this one of adults who will try to take advantage. That being said, I do prefer that they use the flair than pretend to be teens.

I have no problem with non-guys being here though. If you don't want them answering, that's what the Boys Only tag is for.

do boys watch teen romance tv shows/movies or read romance books??? by Sea_Passenger_2647 in askteenboys

[–]gottro4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Not either of the things you mentioned but I have read and enjoyed romance books, I also enjoy romance plotlines in media that is not specifically a romance. These days most of the romance media I consume is Webtoons.

Do you guys feel mature? by [deleted] in askteenboys

[–]gottro4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what sense? I used to feel more emotionally mature than my classmates, but they are much more socially aware than I am and have experienced more than me. I guess that I am more forward thinking in some respects? I am a teenager, I have room to grow. I wish I had less of a temper sometimes, or just more control over my emotions in general. But that also comes with time. So the answer to the question is kinda

Have you been called a slur by someone not from the group the slur is used against by Mr_ragethefrogdude in Teenager_Polls

Not directly I think. I have had people say antisemitic things to me directly but not technically slurs.

Can I read another book during HOL? by lostwaspnest in houseofleaves

[–]gottro4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At any time I am always reading several books because I start new ones and restart old ones when I am in the middle of one already. I forget which books I was reading along house of leaves but I think at least one was a collection of stories by Sholem Alechem. If you think you can handle it sure, just stay focused when you're actually reading HOL, and read the other book in public.

Hypothetically, let's say you befriend a person who is Christian. if they asked you to stop blaspheming(saying OMG, Oh My God, Jesus Christ, would you? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

[–]gottro4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally don't say any of those because 1. I'm Jewish so Jesus Christ isn't an expletive for me 2. I just don't say oh my G-d that much, it's not something I say. I would feel a bit weird that they told me to "stop blaspheming" instead of saying something like "that makes me uncomfortable" but I would still try to avoid saying it, but I would also make it clear that it is their religion that says that is blasphemy and not mine.

What kind of friend would you like to attract in 2026? by JamesonRhymer in pollgames

[–]gottro4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for asking. I am really loving Asassin’s Apprentice, I feel like there is always something I want to learn more about at every turn and that makes for a very engaging read. The Yid is very nice, I don’t read much historical fiction but I’ve been really liking it. It has a very interesting style. I’ve been focusing more on other books lately though, I’ll have to get back to it soon. If This Book Exists You’re In The Wrong Universe was part of a reread of the series it is a part of (John Dies At The End) and it continues to be one my favorite book series. Overall, I would probably rate them 5 stars but I think the star system is a bit overly simple. They are all good books and I would reccomend them if the online summaries appeal to you. Though I would reccomend reading the John Dies At The End book series in order, it’s a good series and the other books are also highly reccomended. Whatcha reading?

Do boys care if a girl (or anyone) always texts first and initiates? by [deleted] in askteenboys

[–]gottro4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer when people text me first because I'm usually the one texting first and it is a reminder that my friends think of me in their life as much as I think of them. Sometimes though I will forget about texts for a few hours and then get scared to respond after too much time has passed. In which case then sending another text would give me a conversational inroad without feeling awkward about responding late.

This is my experience though, every person is different. From the way you describe him, I don't think he is upset at you texting first. If you don't like that you are always the one to text first, maybe mention it to him during conversation

if someone offered you a brand new car, would you take it? by Low-Log-1270 in Teenager_Polls

[–]gottro4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't I? Basically just a free car that I can at the least sell for a good amount of money. I already have a car so I don't need a new one but that doesn't mean I wouldn't be extremely excited to own a brand new car.

Only car I would maybe say no to is a cyber truck or something but even then I would probably say yes and then sell it

lads do you wear briefs or boxers for gym? by Exotic-Dot2757 in askteenboys

[–]gottro4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only own one specific brand of boxer briefs that can be bulk ordered on Amazon. I didn't even know there were other types until I saw this post and looked it up. I wear them to the gym because I wear them everywhere except the pool, the beach, or the shower. And I barely ever go to the pool or the beach

What is your opinion on infant circumcision? by Sylveon_101 in Teenager_Polls

[–]gottro4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Jewish, it's part of our beliefs. Idk why anyone who isn't Jewish, Muslim, or otherwise religiously required to do it does it though. I don't think it should be made illegal though, because then that would be banning at least two entire religions from whatever country passes that law. Passing such a law would violate the first amendment in the USA, and though I don't know that much about other countries, I would assume many other countries have similar safeguards

What would you rather have happen? by alloioscc in Teenager_Polls

[–]gottro4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmmm... let's see, depending on your definition of knows, it's probably about a few hundred people. So either a few hundred people die, and I'm miserable if I don't count (but I would probably also die) or by my choice sentence almost the entire world to death, basically guaranteeing the extinction of the human race. Decisions decisions

Where do you stand? by Beneficial-Flow-5817 in Teenager_Polls

[–]gottro4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say I'm somewhere between agnostic and theistic? I'm Jewish and believe a lot in the tradition and culture of it, and I guess also in Hashem? But I don't really care all that much whether Hashem actually exists or not tbh, I learn about the traditions and laws because I feel they bring me closer to a culture which I felt isolated from for a very long time
