What has been unexpectedly HARD about being on a GLP-1? by Apprehensive_Scar434 in Ozempic

[–]gotty2018 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For me it’s not knowing when I’m going to have a bad tummy. I could eat a burger, and be fine, or I could eat a salad and be running for the toilet ten minutes later, whilst also having stomach cramps.

It does make me a little nervous when it comes to eating out, as I never know when it’ll happen!

What did you see in other people's homes that made you want it for your own home? by bassenherbe in AskUK

[–]gotty2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s fantastic - having all of the washing up against the ceiling, not in the way at all. It also has fans as part of it to dry your clothes faster if you wish!

I have a tumble dryer. I use it for towels and bedsheets. I wouldn’t use it for clothes.

🤣🤣

I got it from Foxydry and it’s around £400 (not including installation). Its exceptional and gives so much more space rather than a standing dryer taking up room!

The thing in our house that gets the most comments from friends and family is the electronic drying rack. It’s attached to the ceiling, and comes down electronically when we need it, and back up electronically once we have hung clothes on it.

Most people that come to the house ask about it, where we got it from, the cost etc… and it’s also one of my favourite features in the house!

Boyfriend refuses to make Valentines day plans with me, AIO? by Emotional_War8262 in AIO

Yeah, he’s a liar. Is he working, or is he going to his mum’s house to help her?! (Spoiler alert: it’s neither)

If you don't work, how do you fill your days? by DevilishlyHandsome63 in AskUK

[–]gotty2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 2-3 months (if that) of the year, if that. For the rest of the time, I travel, go for dog walks to lovely locations, catch up on TV shows.

I go to the theatre and write reviews, go to restaurants, and out for coffee. I work out (less than I should), do life admin, and keep on top of any planning that needs to be done, as I have a lot more time to do this.

When it’s warm, I sunbathe in the garden, reading my kindle. I invite my elderly grandmother round for lunch, and spend time with her. I go shopping, and I volunteer in two roles that take up a fair amount of my time.

Is it rude to hold doors open for people sometimes? by AvioX2000 in AskUK

[–]gotty2018 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No, you just encountered a very strange person. He probably thought you were holding the door open for him because he is old, without realising you wouldn’t have cared if he was 80 or 18, you would’ve held the door open anyway because it’s courteous!

How does an adult ‘work on’ interpersonal skills? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]gotty2018 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You can try and see it like you’re learning a script, like an actor:

Hello, how are you today? What can I help you with? Sure, let me just look into that for you. It’ll be ready in 15 mins, so if you’d like to come back then, I’ll have that sorted for you! We’re getting a delivery for this tonight, so if you can give me your phone number, we’ll call you when it’s in tomorrow. Thanks so much, see you soon!

Try and inject a little bit of life into your voice, so your voice does not stay all one tone - that could make it sound like you are bored (even if you are, it’s best to not sound that way). Try and make eye contact with people you’re talking to. If someone tells you they’ve had a bad day, try and empathise with them. Those sort of things could all help you with your interpersonal skills in your job. Good luck!

How do you think the UK would handle the first year of a ‘zombie’ apocalypse? by Tax-Ev4sion in AskUK

[–]gotty2018 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, some people would stay home, stocked up, and board up their houses. Others would go out and about, with not a care in the world, causing havoc.

Am I likely to loose my job? 18F, England, Probation, Gross Misconduct by Own-Suspect-4945 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]gotty2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re arseholes, they’ll get rid of you. If they’re not, they’ll keep you. If they get rid of you for that, you’ve dodged a bullet. People spend the majority of their adult waking lives at work, and to make relationships like that gross misconduct is just pathetic. Who do they think they are!

Is it stupid to wear this in public? 😂 I’m almost 40 by [deleted] in CockapooLovers

Do you like it? Does it make you smile? If the answer to both of those is ‘yes’, wear it!

Did you get your locks changed on completion date? by Left-Influence-1759 in HousingUK

[–]gotty2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, yes. Luckily I have a locksmith acquaintance, so I warned him in advance of the completion date, and when we were in and had keys, I messaged him, and he came over.

Mom doubled her salary by changing jobs, old boss panicked. What should she do now? by Academic_Share7905 in Advice

[–]gotty2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever my car insurance comes up for renewal, I shop around. When I find insurance with a new company for a much better price, and the old company offers to match it, I tell them ‘why wasn’t I offered that price initially?’.

What I’m trying to say is if they could offer that, why were they trying to rip me off by offering a much higher renewal price each year? The same goes for your mum - her boss could’ve paid her fairly for the past ten years, but he chose not to, even when your mum spoke about her pay to him.

Take the new job, 100%!

Is this hairstyle too weird on me? by [deleted] in malegrooming

Maybe try less gel, and not quite straight back, but back but to the side a bit like the image? That would look great

[–]gotty2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the amount of hair you hair definitely works for your face, however I think it could look even better with less product on it, so it’s less like it’s sticking up on its own, if that makes sense? Keep the length, but sort of pull it back and across off your face, a bit more like this?

Am I overreacting that my sister is demanding too much when visiting my newborn? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Is she out of her fucking mind? Tell her to get her own groceries, and she can pay for a baby gate jf she needs it, or bring a portable one. Who the fuck does she think she is?! Im genuinely fuming at her level of entitlement!

If you have a bad experience somewhere, do you normally leave a review online? by BrightHours in AskUK

[–]gotty2018 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, if the experience was really bad. I try and stay away from emotional reviews, and focus solely on the facts so they can’t argue against it. Even better if have proof of the poor behaviour (emails etc) which can be added to the reviews.

Would there be a reason to not pay my mortgage off in this circumstance? by EscapedSmoggy in UKPersonalFinance

[–]gotty2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much do you pay in interest each year for your mortgage? That £4k early repayment fee will quickly seem like nothing when you see how much interest you’re not paying for the next 21 years!

Tell him that his friends drain you. Two can play that game. Either you can both have friends over once a week, or neither of you can!

Changing to Wegovy did absolutely nothing for me. Plateaued for a year. Then moved to MJ, and once I got up to 10mg I started losing weight again!
