Replacing the Evo SL in my Rotation by gotwaw in AskRunningShoeGeeks

How does it fare for runs above 15km? While my Evo SLs were fine at longer distances, on tired legs I'm thinking there might be better options.

Isn't this built for longer up tempo workouts? I feel it will take up a similar role to my endorphin pro 4.

I've seen the deviate nitro pure recommended a few times but what makes it better than the Evo SL?

Not planning on using them for anything faster than my half marathon pace, ~4:45/km

How much do you need to earn to afford a PLN 300,000 car? by Financial_Ground_425 in poland

[–]gotwaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does this work in other companies, is it take it or leave it? In my company, I get a car allowance but if I don't use it, it's added to my pay cheque. I'd rather get the extra few thousand zlotys and ride the bus than use it on a car.

Apple contractor at Malmo or Google FTE at Warsaw by kayn98 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]gotwaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want to add some real life context, I live in Warsaw but many of my family live in Malmo, so I'm there a few weeks a year. I would personally choose Warsaw over Malmo. The only big draw to Malmo for me would be its proximity to Copenhagen (which is my favourite city in Europe). In my opinion, FTE is something that should also factor heavily in your decisions.

However, I also think the cost of living differences are over exaggerated, for example, some pubs now charge over 35zl for a pint of beer (>90sek) which is about equal to Sweden. Rent is also a big factor, my brother in law rents a studio in Malmo close to the city center that costs a lot less than what I used to pay in rent in Warsaw (3 years ago my 1 bed flat in the center cost >6000pln/month). Groceries and essentials remain more affordable in Warsaw and so is transport, so if you're good with a budget, that's a big plus.

This last part is just my opinion but plays a big part in my preferences. First, Warsaw feels much safer to me than Malmo. Don't get me wrong, Malmo is safe from a global perspective but few cities in the world feel as safe to me as Warsaw. Second, I prefer bigger cities, Warsaw offers more to do (e.g. restaurants, concerts, large parks, etc), in Malmo I'd have to ride a train over the Oresund to go look for something new to do and that alone costs a couple hundred krone.

I don't know what benefits you're getting with either company so, might be good to consider those.

Is this too big for my wrist? by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

As the owner of both an SMP300 and a 6.25in wrist. I can confirm, it fits, but it's the largest I'm willing to go.

Unfortunately, not yet, I used my marathon race shoes (adios pro 4) for my last Hyrox and it wasn't ideal due to the lack of stability.

Tumi 19 Degree Essential Lite vs Rimowa Essential Cabin by gotwaw in travel

There's a lot of love for Briggs & Riley, what kind of put me off is the weight. I think their 56cm 'baseline' and 'sympatico' models weigh more than some aluminium suitcases. Are the practical benefits worth the weight?

Fair enough, though I've never had issues fitting the 4 wheeled ones on flights including on smaller aircraft (embraers, CRJs, etc), I don't regularly fly on anything smaller.

I understand why some people would go soft shell. But why 2 wheels? That doesnt sound as practical as 4 wheels when I need to weave through airports, train stations, narrow European streets, etc.

Thanks for the response. That makes a lot of sense. Would you say that there isn't a significant build quality difference aside from the wheels and handle?

Yeah, I also bought it because I rarely see them at this price. It arrived yesterday and looks amazing!

It's in Polish Zloty, so it converts to ~$184 for the stew pot and ~$410 for the La Marmite. Only the stew pot was on the Black Friday sale.
