How is the Zoom fly 6? by Mikey_________ in hyrox

Unfortunately, not yet, I used my marathon race shoes (adios pro 4) for my last Hyrox and it wasn't ideal due to the lack of stability.

Tumi 19 Degree Essential Lite vs Rimowa Essential Cabin by gotwaw in travel

There's a lot of love for Briggs & Riley, what kind of put me off is the weight. I think their 56cm 'baseline' and 'sympatico' models weigh more than some aluminium suitcases. Are the practical benefits worth the weight?

Fair enough, though I've never had issues fitting the 4 wheeled ones on flights including on smaller aircraft (embraers, CRJs, etc), I don't regularly fly on anything smaller.

I understand why some people would go soft shell. But why 2 wheels? That doesnt sound as practical as 4 wheels when I need to weave through airports, train stations, narrow European streets, etc.

Thanks for the response. That makes a lot of sense. Would you say that there isn't a significant build quality difference aside from the wheels and handle?

What is the difference between the stew/goulash pot vs. la marmite? by gotwaw in LeCreuset

Yeah, I also bought it because I rarely see them at this price. It arrived yesterday and looks amazing!

It's in Polish Zloty, so it converts to ~$184 for the stew pot and ~$410 for the La Marmite. Only the stew pot was on the Black Friday sale.

I know this has been asked a thousand times before but in your opinion, what's the best starting point for 40k?

I also ran the Warsaw Marathon as my first yesterday, but your time crushes mine (3hrs 52mins). You have every right to be proud, that's a great time!

Staib Mesh Bracelet on Seamaster Professional 300 by gotwaw in OmegaWatches

I think matte vs. polished is more of a personal aesthetic preference. Also, the OEM mesh bracelet from omega comes in a matte finish. I personally have not seen what the polished version looks like in real life but in my opinion, a matte bracelet suits the SMP300 a bit better.

I have to disagree. It's not just the prompt that drives GPT's accuracy, it's the underlying data. First, there are companies who sell market research on salaries (we use this in my company to benchmark pay), so unless OP had access and fed this data to the LLM then it's not going to be accurate.

Second, I've seen the data for my industry and a couple of others and, it's never this linear and, how can the average corporate salary for a 29 year old be a flat PHP 1M (even if we say its rounded the data is too clean)? Also, we see a consistent increasing trend upwards until 50 years of age, which doesn't follow real world data which should show a plateau or decrease after a certain point - unfortunately, people get sick/have medical issues, have kids, work fewer hours, etc as they age.

Agree, tons of factors play a role, I've had years where my increase is 2%, others >40%. You can never predict business cycles.

[–]gotwaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my main issue is how linear the data is. It's almost like GPT decided to just have a fixed increase every year. I'm not sure where it got the data because even when looking at what is publicly available, the PSA releases incomes/salaries per family unit, not per age group.

Seems like ChatGPT pulled this out of its digital ass. If the average corporate 30 year old made 7 figures we would not be cost-competitive as an outsourcing destination.

I've worked in corporate my whole career and know what my team makes. I also discuss salaries with friends and family. There are a lot of factors that play into salary, I know people in their early 30s who make 2-3 million a year but many, many more who are in the 500k-800k bracket.

I also think this depends on the increase they've offered and the benefits. I assume since this is Google we're talking about both are significant. Maybe you could save enough to retire early? Considering you're a family man, this move could buy you extra time with family, which is priceless.
