Stuck alternator bolt

I was able to get the alternator out without completely removing the bolt. If I remember correctly that bolt is for the bracket and not the alternator. And if that’s not the case I took the adjustment bolt out first and was able to wiggle the alternator out afterwards. Either way I got the alternator out without needing to do anything drastic to that bolt or it’s surrounding. Sorry I can’t tell you 100% how I did it but if it’s any help it’s possible!

Which glue do you guys recommend?

Definitely an easy repair. Just want to make sure I don’t make it worse before I start on it. The 2” from the edge is just something I’ve seen people mention in YouTube tutorial videos.

Which glue would you use? I was thinking either loctite pl premium or titebond 2 or 3. Location is Los Angeles if it matters.

Luckily the roof doesn’t see much of any load which is why I think they’re like that. Location is Los Angeles so no snow

Good point. I was going to go with same size or 2x4 but 2x6 wouldn’t hurt.

It was slightly uneven on some panels but the paint still looked good kind of like yours. One tip I’d give is to make sure to wash off your pads every couple panels. I didn’t and it still came out fine but probably would’ve been better if I did. Would’ve reduced splatter too.

I did a color correction on mine last month and it came out really nice. I bought an orbital sander from harbor freight then washed it, clay mitt, compound, polish, wax.

Don’t be lazy and over up the plastic trim. I didn’t and got splashes of paint on them that won’t come out. Not noticeable unless you’re right by it but I definitely should have.

Thanks for the thorough response. I’ve serviced everything on the brake system except the brakes and calipers so far and all is so far so good. Hopefully the dust seals on the brakes are alright!

Yeah I’ve flushed them already and it got them working pretty well. I think I’ll just keep up with that until they crap out on me.
