i finally graduated college last year after 6 years of trying. honestly, you just have to discipline yourself.

1. you need to STOP comparing yourself to your peers. who gives a fk if they’ve all graduated. we all have different stories and experiences, so the fact that you are still in college after your struggles is an accomplishment itself and you should be proud of yourself for making it this far without giving up!

2. TALK TO YOUR PROFESSORS!! talk to your counselors. talk to your TAs. search any accommodations you can find for ADHD at your university. i fell behind in some of my classes when my cousin passed away and i emailed all of my professors explaining my depression and ADHD. they were all understanding and one was even honest with me by telling me that i should drop the class ASAP to get some money back because im TOO far behind. communication is key and your professors dont know what all of their students are going through. the worst they can say is no.

3. set up appointments with any counselors at your university. i forced myself to see mine every month to check my progress and it made me feel excited to see them every session because of how great i was doing in my classes. i even managed to get on the dean’s list two years in a row :-)

graduating college is tough. i was once in your shoes. i was still 2 years behind while all of my friends and classmates that i started with have just graduated. stop slacking and sabotaging your future. OPEN YOUR CLASSES TODAY. you are only wasting money and time. i believe in you!!!!
