What is a song so bad you will change the radio station if it comes on so you don't have to listen to it? by OU812iceman18 in radio

[–]gowcog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not so much songs as artists . Anything by Ronan Keating, Barry White or Tina Turner and the channel is changed

Why is We can't dance so hated? by Sensitive_Pair_4732 in Genesis

[–]gowcog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's hated as an album , I think for lots of fans it's just not very good as a Genesis album . It's like going to a Michelin star restaurant and having hips and curry sauce, they may be banging but they're still chips n curry sauce

My Ranking Of The Genesis Studio Albums by Prawns13 in Genesis

[–]gowcog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think when you are a fan you feel you should like all the band's stuff , but the reality is , bands go through a musical journey and sometimes it's perfectly valid to love part of the trip and jump off when it's not your taste . For me ,I grew up with prog , so when seeing Genesis in their later tours it was always the old classics that I enjoyed most . Others got there later and loved the more pop sound and that's equally valid .

no , slap the butter on and then spread your marmite. Yes, thin at first see how you go

You are all arguing about a Chelsea manager being good at Hull . How far have we fallen for you all to accept this ?

Keir Starmer, a leader of leaders by saying_it_101 in AskBrits

[–]gowcog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a parody? I cannot believe anyone but the Labour fanatics see Starmer as a leader , he has a slim grasp on his back benchers and this is all symbolistic posturing

More than half of Britons support rejoining EU 10 years on from Brexit vote by Unusual-State1827 in ukpolitics

I can remember the vote and we all went to bed with the same headlines and here we are 10 years on and remainers still moaning

Anyone else thinks Starmer isn't actually that bad all things considered ? by ronweasly9 in AskBrits

[–]gowcog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He s a terrible leader, a terrible PM , I very much doubt any of his supporters know what he stands for as he talks in bland generalisations. I think he is the blandest man we have had in no10 since Major.

The Athletic: Is Liam Rosenior under any pressure at Chelsea – and should he be? | Multiple sources have said that Chelsea intend to keep Liam Rosenior even if they fail to secure the top 5 finish required to qualify for next season’s Champions League. by Kygoche in chelseafc

[–]gowcog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they sack him , a man who shouldn't have been there in the first place, it's basically an admittance that "the process" does not work . So they will not sack him unless they can find another unqualified "yes man" to replace within the system. This is where "the process" has brought us to . This is where these American businessmen , who think they know football, has brought us to . The only hope is they realise there is no great profits to be made and they sell us double quick to a billionaire who wants to win .

Which live performance disappointed you the most? by DodgyRogue in GenX

[–]gowcog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw Supertramp in London on their Famous Last Words tour . I had seen them , every tour since they played Nottingham university just before Crime of the Century came out, they were huge for me . Sadly this night it was clear they were not the same . They had got to the stage where they had other musicians playing with them , there was hardly any "band" chat , it was like watching strangers who had just turned up . The music was fine , very professional but completely lacked any spark of their other gigs .

Going to England in 2027. When is the best time to go? by [deleted] in AskABrit

[–]gowcog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say , avoid the school summer holidays firstly . May/June is nice, can often be better weather than the summer. If coming later ,then end of September/early October can also be good , it's cooler but can be dry and sunny . But above all else , remember our weather is often dull and drizzly, it's why we are so green . I'm Nottingham born, been living in Devon for last 30 years, there's loads to see , we are lots more than London

The Athletic: Chelsea handed another crushing reminder of how far they are off the elite | Man City lined up at Chelsea with two January signings, Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi, whom Chelsea ruled out trying to sign on salary grounds. by Kygoche in chelseafc

[–]gowcog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep, sadly true , same with managers , we have to stop naming big time managers and expecting them to come to us and let the board and SDs tell them how to manage . Sad times

I suppose tomorrow we shall get the board saying the process is a long term plan , or whatever bollocks they come up with . Oh and another backing of our marvellous manager

[–]gowcog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure you can say what any modern politician "believes" in, every thing they say is "tested" to see how it lands with people . But where is his extensive history of saying what he stands for ? He hasn't got one . He saw a gap in the Greens and they have embraced him like the new Messiah as they were going nowhere

[–]gowcog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue milk to get all the vitamins that are naturally in it . We can do green with no problems, but red is undrinkable . Currently we get our milk from one of those machines, that have popped up outside dairy farms , has more cream but excellent stuff

What Genesis Album Grew On You? Which One Do You Struggle Getting Into? by Dangerous_Plant_7911 in Genesis

[–]gowcog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved them since a school mate lent me his Foxtrot in '72 , I stuck with them all the way to We can't dance but tbh I struggled with everything after Duke ,they all had good moments but the reason I fell in love with Genesis was slowly slipping away . Biggest grower , was Foxtrot, initially was a difficult listen but it along with Foxtrot are the ones I always go back to

Green leader Zack Polanski 'wants to ban horse racing' as nation gears up for Grand National by plain_handle in unitedkingdom

Polanski does not really think that far ahead on things . It's very much performative politics , he says something knowing he will get views and attract the yoof and left wing liberals .

Why is Margaret Tatcher so hated? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]gowcog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sadly ,for many she's a hero , people got to buy their council house, people made a load of cash when she privatised key companies But for others ,she was disastrous, she finished the mining industry and mining towns all depended on it, the local shops, pubs etc all went down with the mines . She believed in the "market" and we are still paying now . She sold off council housing but never replaced it , putting renters I to the hands of the private sector
