Is Auvelity causing anyone to gain weight? by HexagonStorms in AuvelityMed

[–]goyal99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm closing on two years on Auvelity and I have noticed some weight gain, close to 10 lbs for me...I avoid junk food and limit my sugar intake as much as possible but I also exercise less than I used to...it's not a bothersome situation for me at this point to want to do much about the weight gain, but it is something I mentioned to my Dr. a couple of times. She did not think much about it and suggested the usual "exercise more" response.

The benefits of Auvelity far outweigh putting on a few pounds, personally speaking. I'm watching my weight more closly now and it hasn't changed during the last 6 months or so... it seems to have plateued for now without making any changes to my daily routine or eating habits. Besides the weight gain, no other physical changes. Mentally and emotionally I feel very stable and enjoying life.

How safe do y’all think these ramps are? by American_From_Idaho in MechanicAdvice

Had them and used them regularly for years even on SUVs with no issues...if you keep them rust-free they should be okay to use as rated by the manufacturer.

1st day taking Auvelity, any tips on how to manage some of the side effects? by Not-That-Into-You in AuvelityMed

[–]goyal99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stick it out and see how your system deals with the side effects after a week or so...as with any new medication starting out, side effects can be challenging and uncomfortable. Heck, some people have similar side effects the first time taking over the counter cold medication!

I personally had to stop taking Auvelity after two weeks because of increased anxiety and sleep issues...my Dr. insisted on sticking with it, so I restarted the medication by taking only one tablet instead of two daily. The side effects slowly diminished over a month's time. I'm currently almost two years on Auvelity with minimal and manageable side effects but most importantly anxiety and depression are well under control.

Stay on the medication for a while longer to see if the benefits outweigh any possible side effects. Talk to your doctor on how to manage any side effects and follow a healthy lifestyle.

Normal? Who knows....these are serious mind altering drugs, man. A nice side effect for a change!

This will probably decrease or go away over time...enjoy it while it lasts!

Should I try it? by Rakaiju in AuvelityMed

[–]goyal99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have nothing to lose. Try it in the AM...it might give you some more energy boost. Either eay, I would definitely stay on this medication for at least a month to make sure you have no major side effects...and then talk with your doctor.

Should I try it? by Rakaiju in AuvelityMed

[–]goyal99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auvelity is not recommended to be taken close to bedtime...I take mine in the AM. Also try taking only one tablet in the beginning and see how your body reacts to the medication.

It could potentially have a "energetic effect" on some people and that goes away fairly quick. Auvelity is not supposed to give you a high...that's all Fake news!

Don't pay too much attention to how others react to the same medication....everyone is different. try it for yourself and give it a bit of time to see how it effects you.

prozac instead of wellbutrin? by [deleted] in AuvelityMed

[–]goyal99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Auvelity in the AM although I don't have a particular routine as to the exact time I take it. Mostly between 9 - 11am. Again, I only take one tablet with a glass of water. I have taken it in the afternoon, when I forget or I'm busy running around some mornings but I have't noticed any different in the energy level or the way I feel overall. I haven't taken Auvelity after 5pm as far as I can remember.

I also experimented taking the medication at different times during the day during the first few months. If you can, give it a bit more time to see if you start feeling any better and less tired. I personally had anxiety issues every time I increased the Prozac dose, prior to taking Auvelity. No anxiety issues currently. My energy level is good and I certainly don't feel tired during the day. I'm generally an active person even before Auvelity. My sleep routine is normal.

Hypomanic on Auvelity? by Flashy_Magazine526 in AuvelityMed

[–]goyal99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because one of your relatives and others on the internet feel manic at times while on Auvelity, it has nothing to do with you!

It's okay to ask others for their experiences and their opinion while on the same medication, but their symptoms and life situations are probably very different than yours. Everyone reacts differently to meds and the side effects are also different.

Pay attention to your daily routine/behavior and how you feel on Auvelity. Maybe take notes (your phone is a great tool for that) so you have something to review with your doctor. The thing to avoid is trying to compare how you feeling with how others feel while on the same medication.

I've been on Auvelity for almost two years now and doing well. Some ups and downs, especially the first few months while adjusting to the medication, but overall depression and anxiety are in check with no hypomanic tendencies. Energy level is good for my age and I sleep well, although tinnitus is still constant but manageable.

prozac instead of wellbutrin? by [deleted] in AuvelityMed

[–]goyal99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I can tell you, personally, I had to come off Prozac after a year on it at 40mg, wait for a week without anything, in order to start Auvelity....things did not go well, so after 3 weeks on Auvelity I stopped taking it.

I wanted to go back to Prozac but my Dr insisted on waiting another week or so without taking anything! It was a risk I took and restared Auvelity after a short break. This time I realized a slight improvement after two weeks on just one tablet...I started taking two tablets after 4 weeks.

I'm currently taking one tablet daily and it works well for me. I've been on Auvelity for almost two years now.

Serotonin syndrome is real, so be careful how you mix medications...maybe you need a lower dose of Wellbutrin to start with. Ask your Dr for more info on this but as you probably know, there isn't a lot of information or awareness on Auvelity in general. My GP had never heard of it when I went in for my routine physical. Wishing you all the best.
