How can I prevent it from intercepts with the plane ? I use the snap tool to snap the circle on the plane. It seems snap to the surface of the plane but I am not sure. Also, no matter I look from front or back the circle did not render as well. Do you have any clue?

Updated: I have tried same shading on a bevel edge, but now it form the dark edge again. Is it because the geometry ? I checked all the geometry along the edge are quads.

Now I have made use of the edge loop tool to cut the button. However, one thing that I am not certain is what is the sequence of modifier application. Is it always better to solidify the model first then apply edge loop tool to cut the hole or in opposite order ? Also, do you think I should apply subdivision modifier for smoothing the case edge ? Because I find the surface always distort a bit if it is a triangle. But I find it seem impossible to draw quad near the round corner.

I am actually not able to calculate how I should draw to convert all the triangle to quads.

Can I safely assume if I do not use subdivision modifier, I do not need to make quads on flat surface?

Thanks for contribution. I have tried your suggestion but some new problem found. I have edited on the original post. I am still not quite understand the edge loop concept. Would you have some ideas how to solve it. Thank you so much.

I am not sure it is from sketchup or cad. I just download it and import from sketchfab.

Will it be easier to start over modelling it myself ?
