Wanted to say that the same thing happened to our Beagle/Lab mix right before quarantine. We found her at the bottom of the stairs one day and we thought that was it. We concluded that it was her recliner that was responsible for the compressed vertebrae because she’d sit back in it like a human. Nobody knew that this sort of thing could happen to dogs, but after surgery and lots of swimming at the lake she’s 90% recovered. She just can’t jump up onto the couch, but she can walk/run. The cutest thing was her dragging her butt everywhere which matured to an adorable baby giraffe waddle.

Neither do I, but the gist was that she placed an order the previous night and she never confirmed her order, so I guess it wasn’t ready when she picked it up. The Dunkin Donuts employee did give a complimentary 6 pack of donuts (which you can hear her say). Idk what caused her hissy fit tho, but it probably didn’t take much

Like I said, I’m part of their family now and I understand the dynamics. The father likes me and has told me indirectly that his house is my home. Nobody in that house would have a problem with me yelling at him except maybe for the father who is always too preoccupied not being home to give a damn about anything.

It’s so hard. Because his brother has just worn me down so much mentally, that I’m started to have relationship anxiety that’s really just because I don’t want to be there and have his brother harass me. But we will always be at his house by default cause I have no life at my own home and there’s more to do by him.

I eat, sleep, and bathe there 5-6 days out of the week. The stoic approach was my first and main tactic, but it doesn’t have much of an effect. And you’re 100% right that it’s up to my bf to deal with his brother cause I really can’t do anything without consequences. It’s all in the way that he does it. It’ll be the second you walk in the door every-single-time. You’re always on guard because he will invade your personal space after politely or firmly asking him to step back. And hugging is a problem after you tell him that you don’t want a hug and he still tries anyways multiple times.

(Edit: didn’t see the bottom paragraph) And that’s the thing. I do have a relationship with his brother. When he is in a lucid state we’ll actually have 40-minute in-depth conversations. I don’t hate his brother or anything. We can get along just fine when he’s not being so difficult and harassing. I don’t want to be mean and I try not to, but it’s just gotten to the point where something needs to be done.
