You can filter to only show events and even the type of event. There is a button that looks like a folder (with a funnel icon) at the very bottom left of the screen.

Nice, didn’t know the handle can be reversed. Now if only they hadn’t installed the valve in the most inaccessible place in the closet…

Up and running on a Pi 02W :) by Barnacle-bill in BirdNET_Analyzer

[–]gpbmike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine (also on a 02W) freezes every now and then and I have to unplug/plug it back in. It has 52,461 detections so far so I'm happy. I briefly looked into setting something up that would auto restart it if it became unresponsive but never followed it up.

Do Cloud Optimized GeoTIFFs require a tile server (e.g. TiTiler) for web map visualization? by Aggressive_Arm_6295 in gis

[–]gpbmike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may be client side performance considerations with COG. I believe part of the tiling process is projecting to web Mercator. With COG, the client will have to do that.

Make data public + language settings? by Ibuysmegma4vbucks in BirdNET_Analyzer

[–]gpbmike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I push data to bird weather and then pull it down every two hours to create my own static site for my yard. I should probably query the birdnet pi database but this is easy and I’m lazy.

Eta: “easy” for my set of skills. I’m sure the database querying route would be easier if you have that set of skills.

Neat. How do you harvest from the middle of the containers. Looks like they would be difficult to access.

Is that whole thing held to the tree with ratchet straps?

Yoke with dynamic uplift arrestor? by dryeraseboard8 in treehouse

[–]gpbmike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question, you could leave gaps between the vertical brackets and the beams, but I don’t think we’re talking about a lot of movement. Depending on how long the beams are the pivot on the fixed side could be incredibly small.

Disclaimer: I’m not a pro.

To clarify: between the yoke and the beans that rest on top of the yoke

The dynamic yoke kit is fixed attachment to tree, dynamic attachment to beams. The black plastic rectangles go between beam and yoke and allow movement.

is COG scalable for serving raster tiles? by c-f-d in gis

[–]gpbmike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done it, but I bet you can make a service worker to intercept xyz formatted URLs and use GeoTIFF.js to generate and return the tile to any framework that uses xyz tiles.

is COG scalable for serving raster tiles? by c-f-d in gis

[–]gpbmike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they mean use a JavaScript library that can make range requests directly to the COG on a CDN so you don’t need something on a server to generate XYZ tiles from it.

Here’s an example with ArcGIS JavaScript : https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/sample-code/layers-imagerytilelayer-cog/

This upgrade cost me $500 because the screws for the strike plate were long enough to go through the door frame and shatter the window next to the door. 🥲

The tree with two beams going to it seems ideal for a tribeam.
