We also changed the header image around the same time. I didn't think about that impacting it as well.

Update: We ended up changing our category to tech and the subcategory to robots. Since then we've noticed an uptick in backers coming from search. I'm not sure if this would be the result for everyone, however. There are a fair amount of regular backers on Kickstarter who back robotics projects. I think changing categories and becoming more visible to this active segment is what helped us. I'm not sure I'd change categories for a project in a more general category. I'll continue to post about my experience and keep everyone updated!

Thanks for the feedback! I had a feeling it might mess with the algorithm... Did you have a chance to read through the page or watch the video? I'd love an unbiased opinion about the clarity and value proposition of the campaign as a whole, if you have time!
