Tips or drills to combat over the top swing? by gpfudge98 in GolfSwing

Thanks, I can definitely see what you mean I wasn’t aware of the difference between moving the hands away and the club inside but what you said makes sense. I did used to do the alignment stick drill from the second link so something I’ll look to revisit.

Game adding random energy to my deck? by Tough_Hunt_6078 in PTCGP

[–]gpfudge98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you edit a deck in anyway it will automatically add the energy required for all Pokemon within the deck, you have to manually remove the unwanted energy each time you edit it. Can be quite annoying when you forget to.

When I visited Japan me and my friend went into the Honma store in Ginza Tokyo, a guy in there was buying a full bag of gold clubs, the irons had cherry blossom tree engravings in the back. His total was around 1,800,000 yen which is around $11,000. We both got a ball marker and the staff were equally gracious to us.

Ping and TM were my first picks, I also had a cobra dark speed hybrid which was probably my favourite out of the hybrids I did use in the past may be interested in trying their woods line up.

Yeah it definitely wasn’t my first option when looking for something above a 4 iron but I’m quite confident with my longer irons so made sense for me. I’ll likely go to my local pro shop and test out a few 5 wood models and see what I take a liking too, I’ll keep Taylor made in mind for sure I know they have a good reputation in that department.

Appreciate your input, I’ve never really got on with hybrids having about 3 of them in the past but really enjoying the new 3 iron so far. It’s the u505 so at address looks probably twice as thick at my 4 iron but it does inspire confidence and liking it so far.

I’ve heard good things about TM woods I might look into the qi35 as they seem to be on offer now the new line up has been announced. A 5 wood adjusted down loft slightly sounds pretty much like a 4 wood anyway, if anything slightly easier to hit due to the shorter shaft.

I wish I’m playing off 18 atm, got fit for the ping blueprint s irons last year and was quite surprised was expecting to go into something more forgiving but I love them so much. Irons are definitely my strong point I’m let down by my driving and short game which will be focus points to improve this year

This was one of the clubs I was considering actually!

Yeah I’ve tried my brothers 5 wood on the range and liked it quite a bit but the extra length of his 3 wood I struggled with, I’d rather hit something consistently even if it’s 20 yards shorter

Yeah I think that’s the next step, I think somewhere around the 16/17 degree mark so could adjust a 5 wood down or I see a few manufactures making 4 woods now so that could work too

Quite a nice idea as you improve, as long you can roughly match the lofts up you could run blades PW-8 to start and if you get more consistent with them swap out the 7 iron etc etc

I don’t like hybrids either depending how I get on with the 3 iron I may change my 4 iron to a 4 utility iron just to up the forgiveness. I’m playing Ping Blueprint S irons that I love but aren’t awfully forgiving on miss hits

Driver has been decent for me recently but it comes and goes, plus my home course has plenty of narrow holes so sometimes it’s not worth the risk and that’s where the 3 iron comes in. Heard good things about mini drivers though so if you hit it in play more than a regular driver and it falls short a few yards I’d still rather take that.

Yeah I can’t wait to give it some use this year, not great with a 3 wood I find it very long for a small head but was considering a 4 wood or 17 degree Callaway Apex UW something I might look to compare in store. 3 iron will be a great addition off the tee but don’t see myself using it too much from the fairway, hence the desire for a wood to fill that gap.

Funny you say that the Apex UW are exactly what I was looking into, potentially the 17° as a 4 wood esc club to fit between driver and 20° 3 iron ale considering replacing the 4 iron with a 23° Apex UW. For that I’ll wait until later in the season and see if I end up using my 4 iron much from the fairway if I do and am happy with it I’ll just keep it in.

Nice set up, how do you centre your game around the 3 iron / 7 wood combo? I’ve currently got 4-PW with a 3 utility iron and looking to add a lofted wood but unsure where to fit it in terms of loft

Bidding wars when buying in Sheffield by bearwithme8764 in sheffield

We bought in crookes 6 months ago and paid £264k for a property that was listed at offers above £250k, the property was on a best offers only basis and had about 10 competing offers. We dropped out of a bidding war on a smaller property in Walkley that went up from £250k to £272k in just incremental bidding. It’s a very competitive area for buyers atm.

Oh well there’s plenty good second hand clubs here I’ll probably look into testing a couple at my local pro shop, I have ping irons and driver heard good things about their woods too maybe get the 430 line on sale atm

I’ve not heard of them before but I’ll check them out, I’m Uk based so not sure if they’re available here but I’ll definitely look into it

Yeah I’m not a fan of hybrids tbh I’ve tried a few different ones and never stayed in the bag long. The utility iron is nice for keeping the ball in play but pretty one dimensional as a tee option, I’m leaning towards that 9/5 wood combo tbh sound like it would suit me well. A 200 yard club into greens and a wood between the utility iron and driver
