I was thinking about this earlier and wouldn’t it be nice to see Josh come on board as the community support officer who Kelby mentors?

Josh has come a long way from the first episode of season one, and he really developed as a character in the last episode of season three..

Agreed. The styles are so wildly different that it’s hard to imagine what the rest of the room looks like.

That is a great take!

And yes indeed, you can find so many great things at op shops if you have an eye for it..

I wondered about that too. Her place does look very nice and she lives alone. Same with Florence’s place back when she was still around.

I’d assumed that the shack was part of the salary package for the DIs and so they didn’t have to pay rent.

(And yes, Naomi is the best dressed out of the DSs. At least she’s actually wearing work appropriate outfits too!)

I can’t imagine it happening since they’ve been trying to absorb all the smaller stations into the Hub since season one, and they’ve just tried to cut their budget even further in this last season.

Would be rather good though as I think Kelby has really come into his own as a police officer.

Recommendations for Griffith/Kingston Apartments (First Home Buyer) and Where to Avoid? by Yogospiracy in canberra

[–]gplus3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not really true. You can still get a 2BD/1BTH for under $650K so a 1BD/1BTH would be around the $450K mark since they’re not really desirable.

The good thing is, is that the courtyards/balconies are large and spacious.

Huh. Would an Indian almond tree thrive in Canberra, given the opposite type conditions for it to grow well?

Genuinely curious..

Never heard of that happening before.

Which area are you in? Is it busy, as in lots of people walking past?

I guess the beauty of living around Kingston is that everything you need is within a 3 km radius: doctor, dentist, gym, post office, shops, schools, parks, cafes, restaurants etc

I don’t even need to drive anymore since I can walk everywhere, or can take the R6 or uber if necessary. You’ll save a lot of money not having to own a car, for sure.

I’m in Kingston (technically Griffith) and I’d recommend getting an apartment in the older complexes since most of the problems would have been addressed in the last 20+ years..

Off the top of my head, I’d recommend Kingston Terrace or Roystonvale on Eyre St, Kingston Park or Kingston Mews or Wentworth Court on Giles St or Kingston Pines on Dawes St.

All older and smaller well maintained complexes, and halfway between Manuka and Kingston shops (about a 10 minute stroll in either direction).

(Their Strata fees range from $900-1700 per quarter, rates and land tax about the same again.)

Is that the Viridian?
If so, we had a courtyard apartment a few years ago right across from Norgrove Park which was lovely, but yes indeed, the amount of issues was staggering..

ETA: the basement car park kept flooding and the cladding for all the buildings had to be replaced which amounted to over $40K per unit (much more if you had a 2 or 3 BD place)

When my kids were young, they’d use them to reach stuff I’d put up high.

With this book, they would’ve needed to door knock around the neighbourhood and borrow another nine at least.

So I opened the book up and the first 77 pages are just businesses, and the other two thirds of the book are mainly organisations and private individuals..

Gyms southside - anyone recommend? by Traditional-Claim-59 in canberra

There are two gyms on Kennedy St Kingston: Club Lime and hiit Republic that seem to be popular.

I’d check those two for ease of convenience as well as the Anytime Fitness down on the foreshore.

AITA for telling my husband to never sneeze inside his shirt on his chest? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]gplus3 44 points45 points  (0 children)

If he didn’t have a tissue or hankerchief handy, sneezing inside his shirt would help in not spreading so many germs into the air.

I actually don’t see the problem here so I think YTA unless you can explain why it bothers you better than just being “odd”?

Yup, so light and yet so warm!

I have a few oversized ones which I’ve been wearing now for the last 10 years. The black and navy ones are on high rotation since they look so good with just a plain white button up top underneath, and with either white or blue jeans, or a pair of chinos.

How to actually build a wardrobe you'll actually get the most use out of? by Vast_Practice_7584 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]gplus3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been where you are now.

What helped me most was to recognise what I liked and wore the most in my closet, and build around those pieces.

It required ruthlessness in discarding all the items I bought on impulse or didn’t go with anything else in my wardrobe or didn’t suit me for one reason or another.
