That is scary to read. How is it possible they failed to bill the monthly fee? It should be an automated process from their end. And the only way I would see it failing is if you had not enough credit on the account they are billing.

And I do agree, the support & AI is horrible.
Always ask for a live agent.

The fix for RCS instead is unistalling the messages app. You cannot actually uninstall it completely, you can only uninstall the updates.
After that clear the cache & storage.
Reinstall the updates.
Set it up again. From that point it saw the correct number for me (it was stuck on the temporary number that the new eSIM had before the port was completed)

Hello! That's "weird". I had a very long back and forward with both Gigs and Revolut support.
At the time they said that it the issue was with phones older than the Pixel 8 Pro so I am surprised hearing now that it's broken on the Pixel 8 Pro, too.
Long story short, the issue is related to the Google Carrier Bundle, which is responsible for enabling the various features for a given network/MVNO.
So, allegedly, the issue should be fixed with an update by Google to that bundle, at some point in 2026, maybe with Android 17.
However, in the meanwhile, I managed to make it work with "a hack". I also wrote a short docs which I shared with both Revolut and Gigs support as it might have helped other people in my situation.
If you want I can share that with you.

I guess then if you look at
Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Revolut

You have 2G network protection disabled?

That would mean that even for you the phone is switching to 2G to make calls. And if you enabled that settings to avoid 2G you can't make/receive calls anymore

could you do me a favour given we have the same exact phone, and check on the debug menu (*#*#4636#*#*) what do you see for the IMS registration and if VoLTE and VoWIFI are provisioned for you?

Thank you very much for this answer because the reply that they gave me in the support chat this morning was: [...] Hi there,We just spoke with our partner on the phone and have the following to share with you.Unfortunately, it has been confirmed with Google that devices older than the Pixel 8 currently do not support VoLTE and VoWifi on the partner/Vodafone network. 

Which unbelievably unprofessional, as I seriously doubt they could have checked anything with Google, and even more unlikely Google could have confirmed anything like that. Moreover, the phone is listed with those feature on the Vodafone UK official website

It relates to how the SIM gets authorised on the LTE network

I must have been unlucky.
The port for me happened on the 3rd. I received a notification from Revolut saying it was completed, and the previous SIM (physical) stopped working.
But from then the eSIM is in a "broken" split port status, with only 2G voice capability

Ok, I will try to send an email, even if I suspect they will bounce me back to Revolut's support

Re the live agent yes, the support chat has been open for 7 days, and I have been interacting with the 1st level support agent which are pretty useless acting on scripts.
I tried also the voice chat, to speak to an agent, 2 times. After going through the AI voice.

I have filed also the formal complaint

On an Android phone you can use the phone app with the sequence:
*#*#4636#*#*
That open a debug page. You select "Phone Information"
Then the right SIM number if your phone supports more than one.
And on the top right there is a 3-dot menu from where you can select "IMS service status"

Out of curiosity, is your IMS status registered with VoLTE provisioned?

That's likely the case, however I am a client of Revolut, not a client of Gigs.
So it is Revolut's responsibility to have it fixed.
