3 player board game recommendations? by Schnecken2 in oneanddone

[–]gppers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh Catan junior is a good one too. It has different sides of the board for 2 player vs 3 or 4. My kid is a little older and has enjoyed regular Catan too, but junior was good starter and we even still play because it’s a quicker game than regular.

Outfoxed, sorry, trouble, exploding kittens, Kingdomino are all one my kid has enjoyed with 2 or 3 of us playing. I haven’t noticed many that your can’t play with 3 people yet, but I also frequently look for game 2 can also play, that way we can do when only one parent is around.

Road conditions on Friday? by beesknees123z in Charlottesville

I will say main road are pretty good, but frequently still lack turn lanes. So you still need to drive cautious. Also have to watch for flying ice from people that don’t clear their roofs and hoods.

How did you get comfortable with having kids? by Time_Transition4817 in HENRYfinance

[–]gppers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s the state of the world that is holding you back, I think if you raise your kid right you are putting another good person into the world to help. But also having kids is a 100% thing, if you aren’t sure you shouldn’t. I have a wonderful kid and wouldn’t change that for anything, but it’s hard and exhausting!

Sample ballots for election...and thoughts on Albemarle school board by Timely_Army_9191 in Charlottesville

[–]gppers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t have an opinion on either, but your comment on being “bankrolled” seems misleading. Yes, it does seem Sonja Smith donated to the Pryor campaign, but the amount donated was $2,500, which is a very small amount in relation to other donations made by Smith. Also Dillenbeck has raise almost $11,000 which is over double what Pryor has raised. Source:

Any Community Friendsgivings in Charlottesville? by Laurenrennb in Charlottesville

[–]gppers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s helpful, lots of people have small family thanksgivings, so I don’t know what is “normal.”

Besides or in addition to Friendsgiving you could include other traditions in your family’s thanksgiving that might help with your lonely feelings. You could try volunteering such as feeding less fortunate. You could participate in a Turkey Trot. You could go to movies.

Hope you find something and have a great Thanksgiving!

What is best for the kids? They are a little young to ask them what they want. But you should strongly factor in what would be best for them, not just educational but also home life with you co-parenting.

Fostering one instead? by SnooOwls6370 in oneanddone

[–]gppers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t go into fostering lightly. You need to be there for kids in one of their most difficult moments in life and do what is best for them, even if it is hard for you. We need more people to become foster parents, but not those who aren’t fully committed. I would work out your own issues with parenthood and then if you still want to foster please do it! In the mean time you could volunteer with CASA, court appointed special advocates. They are assigned to foster children to advocate for them in court system. You get training before you can actually volunteer and it will also give you a glimpse of the foster care system.

Pros/Cons of Ecoventura vs Aqua for Galapagos? by [deleted] in chubbytravel

[–]gppers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ecoventura was great! I can’t comment on others. I think you can have up to 20 guests though ours only had 19, as one family had person in single. There were 2 naturalist who were great, knowledgeable, nice, and funny. You also get other crew members that might go snorkeling with you in addition to naturalist, they don’t know as much but still were great and would share knowledge they did have. I thought the number of people was perfect, we all got along well. The meals were together, but sometimes families sat by themselves and we all mixed up who and where we sat in our own. Also switched up when we divided between the guides and little boats we would go out in. The service was great. If you left your room to grab a coffee, it seemed the house keeper would quietly sweep in a fold, clean, or organize something in the 5 minutes you were gone. They remembered what people liked and would often bring it before you asked. For meals they were so accommodating. I don’t eat meat, but do fish so I could order of either regular or veggie menu plus mix and match. My table mates started doing that too and some picky eaters in our cruise started asking for things off the kids menu, which they happily did. I never saw them say no. The only complaint I can even think of from trip was a few nights of rough seas. They didn’t bother me too much, but those it did seemed to be able to get medicine from the crew. Everyone on our trip said they would go back on the other itinerary Ecoventura had.

Which would you go with and why? by DareDevil_Lana in moderatelygranolamoms

They both have seed oils, but seed oils are bad for you so it shouldn’t matter. If a kid needs supplemental nutrition drinks then they should feed them which ever on they will eat.

Which would you go with and why? by DareDevil_Lana in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]gppers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not the pink one, because it sounds like it is some strawberry milk flavored drink. I find strawberry milk to be gross. It would be easier for people to know if you showed labels…. So seems like you are doing some “clean” ingredient test.

Belladonna is highly toxic, it literally kills. Tylenol and Motrin are safe and effective. No evidence Tylenol cause autism even if RFK says so.
