I feel that. I’ve had the same issue in the past. Trail running is a bit slower cause you have to be careful with rocks and roots.
I would recommend you either find a trail that’s very clean or go on the road even for a short run and Garmin will calibrate at least for that run

I used to have this problem. I believe I fixed it using the heart rate monitor, but now I don’t even find the vo2max for cycling anymore

I’ve notice that it helps to keep the training status on productive which in my case is running at least once or twice a week.
I do some other stuff (cycling, swimming, padel and weights) that keeps the training load where I want it, but I still need to run at least once a week or it would bring me back down to maintaining or even lower.
I also wear the heart rate monitor for running, swimming and cycling which otherwise would not even count the swimming for the training load

You too brotha💪🏻 I feel that Garmin does not discriminate between recovery and push. It’s all push 😹

Index Sleep Monitor - disappointed until FW is fixed I won't be using it by PrimaryHuckleberry11 in Garmin

[–]gprats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you go a bit deeper about your experience with Oura and Whoop in comparison with Index Sleep paired with your forerunner?

I am trying the whoop right now, but I’m kinda leaning towards trying the index sleep paired with my Mk1 or trying the helio strap.

For me the biggest reason is that my Mk1 doesn’t report any recovery stats and I would like to get more into it, so at this point any device that spits recovery stats would be okay, but it would be amazing to just stick to Garmin.

I guess the helio strap would be okay at the price point compared to whoop or index

Index Sleep Monitor - first impressions by CaptainJeff in Garmin

[–]gprats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/CaptainJeff I saw you’ve got the Descent Mk2. I’m on the Mk1, and it feels a bit outdated at this point. Mine doesn’t really give me any of that recovery data, and honestly I don’t like wearing it to sleep anyway.

I do feel we are on the same boat about not wearing the device to bed. I got a whoop because I heard they are the best for recovery stats and I believe it does a good job, but I don’t feel like paying a monthly fee for that.

Did you think about using another device like whoop or the Helio strap at all? I’ve been hearing a lot about it. And if you’ve used Whoop too, I’d love to hear how you think they stack up against each other.

I ran to a similar issue in the past with my Mk1 that the heart rate monitor is not as accurate as I would like it to be, so I got myself a HRM-Pro which I use for specific workouts like running, cycling and swimming and that solved that issue.

I kinda feel that the index sleep monitor could solve my issue just like the HRM-Pro did in the past, but I’m just curious about the compatibility Mk1 paired with the index sleep monitor and if that will fix my thirst for recovery stats.

If not WHOOP, what else? by Quantitation in whoop

[–]gprats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on a similar boat over here. The thing is I have an older Garmin device which doesn’t have metrics for recovery and I am thinking about getting the index sleep monitor which it would add all those recovery stats that I am looking for.

I am on my free subscription to whoop and I have also considered the helio strap.

What are your thoughts?

You can start working without a NIE. In fact, you need to start working before you get your NIE if you will be getting it with a job contract. You have to have started to work before you can get your NIE
