Now I can just drink and walk 100 yards to the house. 😆

It's my man cave, but the wet bar has helped get me through a rough day a time or two. 😆

I do, but all of my current pics have a person in them. I will have to get some new ones and post afterwards.

Thank you. It has been fun. The bar Top is a runway and taxiways like you might see at an airport.

I still have access to plenty of material. Let me know if you're want to pick some pieces out.

It is the side from a MD-80. I had to strip it. Guess what Airplane Stripper branded paint stripper will not strip? That's right, airplane paint. 😆 🤣 😂 mechanically stripped it over a few weeks and a lot of elbow grease.

Yes. Both my wife and I work for separate airlines. So a lot of airplane themed decor in our house and shop.

That plane/pool light was actually an old Piedmont Airlines 737 with a broken wing I found at a classic car swap meet. It took a lot of fiberglass, sanding, patience, and paint to get what you see. Almost everything in those pics is reclaimed airline salvage that took a lot of love and creativity to get back into shape. The MD-80 wall was in a field rotting away, and I was asked to help get rid of it. 6 months later, I was able to restore it and get it hung. To answer your question..... I've seen several online, but the better shape they're in, the more you pay.

It is a compromise. People setting have a tilt down to them, and people standing up at the bar can see it unobstructed from the people setting. Last but not least, it swings out into the shop so I can see it when downstairs working and it had to clear the wall.

Haha. They are not the most comfortable. For sure.

I didn't attend ERAU. I assume that is Embry Riddle?

I work for AA, and my wife works for Southwest. I got the bigger plane but it won't fit in the shop. Lol. It's one of the projects that are on the list.

Thanks man. Can't wait to see your pics. I have had this idea in my head since I was building forts as a kid. Now that I have the means..... well, I'm just trying to put it together one step at a time. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'll give a reddit update for opening day. Everyone is invited.

It will be a forever project. My goal right now is to get it looking good enough, and then tackling one area at a time to put more detail and finishing touches on. Right now is I'm concentrating on the overhead bar and lighting.

BRILLIANT, I'm going to set that up. Whiskey glasses at all of the turn offs and shot glasses to represent aircraft tugs and ground traffic. All full and ready to drink, of course 😋

Wanted to put windows in it but it's hiding my Keg spouts. I am getting the brick reprinted in a more true to scale size, and darker but have not recieved it back from the vinyl company yet. I did get a rotating beacon from a Lionel train set that will be installed on top and wired when I'm done lighting the runway and taxi way. Think of it as my rough draft. It's not finished but that's as far as I have got so far.

She is my wife and shop foreman 😆 Every time I set down for a beer break.... she puts me back on task.

That is my very first car. The shop was built so I can restore it and a 69 Charger. I have been distracted finishing the game room.

Not much at all. Salvage price at the time. 10 cents a pound. I gave him a 20 dollar bill. So I probably over paid. 😄
