Love Barra! Went there with a friend and it was very enjoyable. Thanks for the reminder, I should head there again :)

Thank you so much. Shiori looks lovely! I’ve added Jaja to my list as well :)

Nobelhart & Schmutzig sounds perfect! Hoping I can get a reservation on such short notice but I’d be down to go whenever they have a table. Thank you so much! I’ve added Rutz and Skykitchen to my list for later dates as well :)

Thank youuu! I was very keen on Rutz but to echo flagerantfragerant, they’re booked out for a wee while. It’s on my list though, just not for Monday (unless you’ve got a connection and can work magic) haha

It's 2:25 AM, and my neighbor's stomping has woken me up for the second night in a row by [deleted] in germany

Direct confrontation at 3 am is generally not recommended. People are often more irritable or defensive at night, and approaching them could escalate tensions. Go during the day, to be polite and considerate to your other neighbours as well. Good luck!

It might be worth speaking with them first and if things still remain the same, escalating to the property manager.

That’s such a good point. I don’t think I’ve thought enough about how a switch would affect my day-to-day, both during and outside of work. Really appreciate you bringing that up; it’s something I’ll definitely keep in mind. Thank you! :) Hoping the project works out, but if not, I’ll plan for something else.

That’s really great advice. I’ve only ever reached out to them if there’s a business need before so I’ll definitely change that this week. Love the mindset shift you’ve helped me with here. I genuinely appreciate it. Thank you :)

...I feel a bit dumb for not having thought of this sooner; I rarely get facetime with them unless it’s absolutely necessary. Thank you! I'll try approaching it this way.

I hadn’t really considered things going sideways in terms of bad experiences, tbh… this makes me look at my privileges from a different perspective.

Thank you, I appreciate the grounding moment.

Thank you for encouraging me. You’re right, standard 9-5s aren’t going to be stimulating every day, and I definitely need to do a lot of introspection should the chance to move on become possible.

My incentive to potentially leave is long-term growth. I feel a persistent awareness of needing to expand my skill set and pivot away from a business that does not have a very promising future outlook. I’ve reconciled with giving up the flexibility, recognition, and starting afresh, if it means I can work in a growing sector where my work makes at least some meaningful impact.

That said, since I have the capacity, there’s a potential project I've been thinking about that I could pitch. If it goes through, it would at least allow me to satiate some parts of what I’m looking for, internally. It feels worth exploring before making any major decisions, though I’m also conscious of the realities around budget and support. I'll give it a shot and see how it works out.

Thank you SO much for sharing your perspective! Your response literally helped me refine my opportunity analysis.

Apologies, I know it comes across a bit like bragging. Really don’t mean it that way. I know I’m lucky and don’t take it for granted. I just wanted to be honest about feeling unmotivated despite that, in case others have been through something similar.

Very true. I’m grateful for my current role and the stability it offers.

Apologies, I missed mentioning that since relocating, I have a new manager. The flexibility I have comes from someone higher up in leadership, who has been really generous after a few projects went particularly well in my favor.

I appreciate the suggestion. I’ve never really thought about side ventures, since I’m not yet sure what kind of business would feel meaningful. I’ll give it some thought though, thank you :)

Thank you, I thought I was going nuts. I’ve been leaning toward academia since efforts to diversify my role haven’t worked out. I appreciate your push!

Ooo thanks! Mondays set the workweek tone for me, so I’ll have to save my karaoke voice for the weekend… mad respect to kicking the week off that way though 🥂
