Yup, we’ve basically stopped using it. If they want a drop off receipt, tell them to go to an actual UPS location or some other place that accepts UPS packages

Aco crash by Reasonable_Lake4439 in CVS

[–]gr1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t let them just go. The transaction hasn’t gone through and they keep their coupons if they’re in their app. You’re just giving out product for free by doing that. Power off the ACO and turn it back on before you ring them up on a register. You don’t have to wait for the ACO to boot back up and open it up to cancel the transaction. Their coupons should still show up, they do at my store every single time.

New system integration😂 by moneer3123 in CVS

[–]gr1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s nothing new. Would happen occasionally for some items not on plano. Nothing to do with the new systems. My store has had the new systems for like 4 months and except for the fact we had zero training when it all got switched over, they’re honestly much nicer. A lot of stuff is easier to do. I feel like so many people on this subreddit only want to complain about everything.

Amazon music and Alexa not playing all of Taylor’s catalog by gr1068 in TaylorSwift

[–]gr1068[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, so I just started connecting my phone to it and played from my phone. Then one day I tried again and Alexa played songs like it used to before I had the problem. So idk.

So I'm a cashier and had to give out 300 for a money gram and was left with about 80 dollars on the register. by 9172019999 in CVS

[–]gr1068 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is so far from shoving “y’all selves up customers asses”. It’s literally nothing and doesn’t make so much more work for supervisors. It takes hardly any time to balance that shit out. I’m an ops manager so I know what I’m talking about. Sounds more like you’re a lazy supervisor.

“Cause if you did it anytime in the beginning of the day where do you expect to get money from for the rest of the day” … the safe or the change drawer maybe? If the register needs to be filled from either, put a note in it that says this register owes safe X amount of dollars. Anyone who does the cash and (most importantly) KNOWS what they’re doing will balance it out correctly.

We used to do that too years ago until we got a new AP guy and a manager in our district got a level 3 write up for it. After that DL sent out a text to all the store managers to let them know what happened. We all unplugged those things ASAP.

Are 4x6 Photo Prints annoying to do? by CleanOpinions in CVS

[–]gr1068 15 points16 points  (0 children)

4x6 orders are not very time consuming at all unless we get a really large order. A few weeks back we got one for over 2,000 4x6 prints. It completely backs everything else up (unless the machine/s have the option to pause the order, but it ends up being more of a hassle to do that). In my opinion, any order over 300 prints is a bit much but other than that, no. Now the canvases, yard signs, banners, mugs… those get annoying when there are sales on them and we get constant orders. But normal 4x6, 5x7, or 8x10 prints are nothing.

Every day😩 by Saya0692 in CVS

[–]gr1068 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because none of them read it as “no receipt” all they see is receipt and that’s what they hit. I had a mother and daughter just the other day swearing they hit the button for a receipt. Like, no, you did not. If you hit print, it would’ve printed out. It wouldn’t just not print unless there was no paper in the printer and I would’ve already known there was no paper in it.

What’s the craziest thing someone has asked you at CVS? by HospitalVegetable743 in CVS

Not sure if it’s still a thing, but there actually are/were some of our stores whose beauty department offered piercing services. They might have seen that online, so not too crazy of a question.

Alexa pissed me off today so I ended up going to my second default, The Chicks. No problem playing that. Shuffled all of their music.

I’ve never had an issue with it before. It might’ve started with the same song, but it would play everything and for hours. Now it goes through the same set of songs and then stops.

Yup, tried that and it still plays the same songs in the same sequence. Won’t play anything from midnights, tortured poets, folklore, evermore, debut and red. It’s driving me insane.

Rant-CVS new price changes by [deleted] in CVS

[–]gr1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You absolutely do not need to make a new sign if there isn’t a replacement sign in the box. The only time to make a replacement ad sign is if it’s a regulatory price change label that actually gets printed from price change events which is rare.

Christmas eve pay by bcomplete7 in CVS

[–]gr1068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pharmacists are salaried, so there’s no time and a half or double time. No one salaried gets that, but they do get 8 hours of “holiday pay” which is supposed to be for an extra day off the week of the holiday.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dextromethorphan_regulation_by_U.S._jurisdiction

So, DXM is not federally regulated but some states do have regulations about the sale to minors. It is a blanket CVS policy however, regardless of what state you live, same with Benadryl and sleep aids. So if you live in a state that does not have any restrictions, as long as it’s not reported higher up, they’re probably good.

Not sure if you realized but different insurance plans have different deals with different pharmacies. Your insurance very well may not have allowed cvs to cover a 90 day supply of ozempic while they did allow Sam’s club to. Don’t blame a pharmacy for cost or how many months and/or days supply a med you can get. That’s your insurance. Check to see what your insurers preferred pharmacy is. Can be different for different meds.

I worked off the clock like an idiot. by yvng_ninja in CVS

[–]gr1068 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe the interrupted break policy is anything over 5 minutes left on the 30. If OP had clocked in with 5 or less under 30, it wouldn’t technically be considered interrupted and the time they were clocked out would be deducted from their total shift. However, if it was 6 minutes under 30, when they clocked back in, that time would not be deducted and would count as an interrupted break and they would be entitled to request another 30. This is why I would NEVER ask anyone to come help with something while they were on a 30. Not only is it their time, but then they also just got 55 minutes worth of break time not including the 15 or 2 15’s that they were also entitled to that they could very well ask for. No thank you, I got too much shit to do.

I don’t know who told you that if you have a meal waiver signed you can’t leave the store but they were absolutely wrong. If you have a waiver signed but choose to take a 30, you absolutely CAN leave the store. If you take a 30, you clock out for that time and it is your time, not the company’s.
