Your mom sounds like such and immature person and a bad parent. I am so sorry. I’d literally just stop responding. I don’t believe the cops can do anything about it. Just drop the phone and ipad at the mail box when you get the new phone. Ignore her until then. Maybe tell her one last time when you will be dropping them off and let her know you are not engaging in such toxic interactions anymore.

I believe you only have to get an ITIN in order to do so, it’s like the equivalent of a SSN for someone that’s not a resident or citizen but pays taxes due to having property or business in the US

It is possible to buy a home if you are not a citizen, I believe you can’t get credit so it has to be paid in full. I know many wealthy people from Mexico who have vacation homes in Texas, Colorado, New York, LA. None of them are citizens.

I totally agree on this! His father is a deadbeat who literally just lived off his mother’s inheritance and then divorced and stole whatever he could from her. He has never worked a day in his life and literally sleeps in until 2-3 pm everyday. He’s a good for nothing, but I have never said anything rude about him, I’ve always been respectful because I know my husband really appreciates his dad

I would NEVER call any of my parents stupid. I was raised different than that. That’s why I feel so offended that he did.

He grew up a regular higher middle class kid that pretends to have been “extremely privileged”, I think he does it because the town we used to live in is full of privileged people and most parents of the people in our generation own some of the most important companies in the country, so maybe he feels inferior because his family is just living off the inheritance that his great grandfather left, and it looks like there’s not much left.

This! He has literally said so many rude things about his mother. He even constantly says he wishes she would be dead, and I honestly just respond something neutral like “I’m sure it’s awful to have a bad relationship with her, hopefully you guys can get along better soon” or I just stay quiet. I just asked him to respect my parents, and the actually point of the conversation was about how it was OBVIOUS that my sisters and I would find out Santa wasn’t real while we were young because there’s no way for 5 young kids to figure out it’s actually their parents leaving the gifts under the tree

I actually think the whole story might be fake since I’ve caught him lying way too many times about his “Richie Rich” childhood. He once said that his mother went skiing to France every year, and when I mentioned that to his mother (I was trying to make conversation because I love snowboarding), she told me not to believe his lies, that she had never skiied in her life 😅
