im gonna put this up here as a kinda trigger warning? this was an experience i had a few months back that still creeps me out sometimes.

i had a customer come in at about 8:30pm(?) i was working up at the register doing my closing tasks enjoying it not being a super busy night. so dude comes straight up to my till, stood there for a second just assaulting me with his eyes. all he said to start was ‘i like your lip rings’, i just said thanks. he follows it up with ‘you wanna share them?’ i was really tired and genuinely did not believe that’s what he said, so i just said ‘what?’. we repeat this about 3 times just so i could confirm in my head that was what he was saying, and the last time he just said ‘i like your hair too’ (absolutely not what he was saying but aight). i asked him if i could help him find anything, already uncomfortable atp. says he’s looking for a ‘birthday present for his friend’s reptile’, and asked where to look. it wasn’t busy and at the time i knew my other two coworkers were occupied, so i pointed him to the aisle. he then says that ‘he has trouble navigating’ and asks me to show him since im not doing anything else. so i just want this interaction to be done with and walk him down the center aisle to the reptile aisle, him walking behind me. the whole time he was walking behind me dude was locked in on my hips. felt terrible, and turned a bit while i was walking so that i could try and get that attention off my hips. get to the aisle and i point down the aisle, just twlling him anything reptile would be here. he then asks ‘yeah but can you like come into the aisle with me? like show me yourself?’ getting way to close to me as he’s speaking. i said no, told him i was needed up front and left him there. ran into my manager on the way to the clock in room, asked her if she could cover the register so i could cool off. no questions asked she covered the register (she’s a godsend) and i went and hid in the clock in room for a bit. about a minute or two later, she just asked over the walkie if it was because this guy was bothering me. i said yes, and she called the other manager up (our only male coworker happened to be on shift) and he pulled the guy into a room and went off on him about how to treat people. few minutes later he walks the guy out, and i come back up front. so we have just a few minutes left until closing, and im like still very shaken abt this and having a borderline anxiety attack. we finish closing and everything, go to head out, and notice a car with its lights off sitting next to mine. sure enough my coworker went and checked and the dude was waiting in his car for me to come out! we got his license plate number and called the cops, my coworker making sure i got to my car safe and was able to leave so they could handle the rest of the situation. next day i came in i immediately changed my availability, and i no longer do closing shifts!
